Top 10 retro titles that could work wonders on Wii U

ONM: It's nearly time folks; Wii U's release date is likely being announced rather soon. As a result, speculation surrounding upcoming games for Nintendo's new system is growing by the second. Clearly, the question on every fans mind is this - Can Nintendo deliver a full spectrum of stellar titles for Wii U?

Well of course they can. But despite that, we want Nintendo to swiftly dip their hands into history and plucked out a few games from yester-year, give them a HD sprinkle and let Wii U's Gamepad do the rest.

Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars, or a sequel to it

Nintendo is just doing the exact same thing it did with the Wii and that didnt hurt their sales at all.

Seriously why is this so hard for some people to understand?I could understand it if you werent around for the Wii launch..
I have to LOL at "fears and criticism" though... First off what is to "fear" about the Wii U? If its not good enough for you or someone else then simply don't buy it.

Criticism? Yeah well Nintendo will always get that regardless. Most people criticize them over no F-zero or Star Fox and then there is a rumor that both are coming to Wii U up right now. The same people that hated them before still hate them now. It changed nothing and never will.

Shit. A fanboy is sighted. Nintendo doesn't care about you. Hard to understand? Stop defending them like they care

So much for not responding to a single post of mine... Oh but I am the one with issues... I simply disagreed with you and point out why. You are the one that got upset and started the attacks kid because you cant handle it when someone doesnt agree with you but you cant prove them wrong in any way...

Earthbound, as is, gameplay-wise, with MAYBE some voice acting, but in Wii level graphics is good enough for me. And I mean AS IS. The simple battle screens would be the same, simply with 3D modeled pictures instead of pixel ones. The over world and cut scenes would look like the CG from Super Smash Bros Melee opening, etc. My friends and I would all buy it, along with a few extra copies to give to others who we think would like it, but are resistant to old school graphics.

Eternal Darkness was way ahead of its time especially for a Nintendo exclusive.

I would love to see a remake or sequel (multiplatform)

Ristul92d ago

When I see Eternal Darkness, I klick!

TheBrainZ92d ago

Not to sound too repetitive but Eternal Darkness all the way!

GaboonViper92d ago

Eternal Darkness is one of my most favourite games of all time.

Quick! Jump on that remake, whoever holds the rights these days.

Earthbound Creator Says Nintendo Considered Mother 3 Translation, But It Was Complicated

IGN writes: Mother 3 is one of the most hotly-desired RPGs ever, having never received an official translation in North America despite the cult popularity of its predecessor, Earthbound. But over all these years, series creator Shigesato Itoi has never weighed in on the discussion - at least until now."

Zenzuu137d ago

They should remake Earthbound, and bring it to modern platforms.

meganick137d ago

A translated version of this game on Switch Online would be nice, and it would add a lot value to the Expansion Pak service.

jznrpg137d ago

Bring it already. Nintendo is frustrating at times

jjb1981137d ago

I would love to see an Earthbound game just redone with 3D-ish models and characters. Just having a remaster for Switch Online would be awesome!

FinalFantasyFanatic136d ago

Did you ever see the Earthbound 64 concept/materials? That actually looked really good, but I'd also take a HD-2D remake as well.

FinalFantasyFanatic136d ago

Nintendo seems very whimsical about what they give they're fans, sometimes they'll give them a bone (e.g. Mario RPG, Thousand Year Door for the Switch), and other times, they just give them little to nothing (agh, the Zelda anniversary).

When you consider the cost of gaming back then and even now, no excuses when costs are involved.
