“Project Crystallis” Wants Final Fantasy Versus XIII Info and Final Fantasy Type-0 Localization

This morning we here at Blistered thumbs received some interesting information from a new Final Fantasy fan group, called “Project Crystallis,” that alerted us to their mission: bringing attention to and obtaining information about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and securing a western release for Final Fantasy Type-0 for the PSP.

But how will Wada be able to find you and silence you if he doesn't know your address............. I still have a hard time believing that something bad will come out of posting an address on a part of the internet that isn't "moot". I just don't see what someone will gain by knowing your address............what will they do ring your doorbell and run away. Then again it's not required to even use your real address..........or name far that matter. If someone really wanted to they could probably sign the same petition 10 times; each as a different person.

I'm not really sure what they were thinking with this one. Any rational person would think a product with such a steep decline in sales deserves a break, not a sequel.

That is very true. But it seems that we 'smart' gamers (as in smart shopping) are a minority. Look at how many people bought 13-2. Yes, it was less but apparently enough to warrant 13-3.

It looks like gamers are getting serious about not buying to show the companies we won't stand for this BS anymore though.

I hope we can see our results soon...with games like RE6, DmC, and 13-3.

I am getting RE6, Because I like what I see (And enjoyed the gameplay tweaks, Leon's game looks like the older style.), and I support Capcom's in-house dev teams. I just want them to stop Outsourcing and westernizing.

I think its funny how everyone says they don't want a ff13 game. Yes it didn't sell close to what FF13 but it sold around 2.5 million copies. Most companies would be happy to get that much sales. Its actually rare to have most games get that much sales. So you cut that in half again for 13-3 thats 1.25 million copies still sold which still makes them profit. I don't know about you but thats a lot of people that want it.

the problem with most of the so called "fans" is that they didnt give the game a chance, and never finished, much like yourself. the game gets much better at 20+ hours, and those that beat the game with an open mind had the sequel they wished for, with most of the problems from the original solved, and the best aspect of 13 (the combat) returning slightly improved.

the story in xiii was poorly executed, but IMO, the mithology behind it is interesting(when u actually understand whats going on). i really dont expect every ff to have a ffVII level of storytelling, that was really one of a kind. 50 hours is enough to judge the game by yourself, so im not making an argument here. personally, i think XIIIs combat system balanced its (many) shortcomings. the same happened with X.

On one hand, it's our (meaning the fans and customers) fault for always hoping for VS XIII news. On the other hand, Square Enix first showed footage of the game 6 years ago, and since then, had released FFXIII, XIII-2, an now announced a FFXIII-3, the third of the FFXIII series which no one even loved anyways. Square is now tied with Capcom as the worst JP publishers/developers

SE likely changed their developmental path for the game and thus needs more time. 13-2 and 3 are meant to keep us entertained within the presence of the magical number "13". Be grateful they didn't actually cancel Versus.

My 2 cents.

Even though LR looks like it could be better then the other games in the trilogy, Square went about this so, so, wrong.

Don't they realize that by announcing this game now, as opposed to after Versus XIII, they've already sealed it's fate.

Because no matter how the game turns out, all most people are going see it as is an obstacle between them and VSXIII.

Now, had they released it after Versus, LR would be in a much stronger position. Versus XIII fans would be appeased, and maybe even more open minded to a new FFXIII game. And fans of Lightning would be more refreshed and excited due to having a nice little break from the (complicated) lore.

By releasing this game first, all SE are doing is making XIII fans fatigued, making Versus fans angry, and making everyone else confused.

At this point square might aswell call Versus FFXV not to distance itself from XIII but because every gen usually Square releases 3 main numeber final fantasy games And this one is coming to end soon. I personally see this game as a coming late in 2013 or early 2014. Its not gonna be on a next gen concole Squares been developing it for PS3 they can't back out of that(if PS4 is backwards compatible I'm sure you can play it on one).

I would like just one trailer just a hint of gameplay obviously Square wants to keep this locked down tight to surprise everyone and justify the wait. BUT when I play this game ima expect it to be on par with VII or VI for how long its taking.

im 100% positive that Vs13 wont live up to the expectations even if it is released. it has an overword, but i doubt its action core will please any of you. xii was open, but if the core gameplay is bad, the game is bad as a whole. i hope the game turns out to be great, but i wouldnt put my expectation so high.

I liked 13. Yep i said it. I didnt like 13-2 though. I liked the gmeplay but they ruined the story from the 1st and it shouldve been a new ip or ff with Noel and the crew minus 13 characters. Same with the new Lightning game. Sounds like they have a great idea for a game and shoehorned Lightning into it. 13-2 did have a cool story on its own but got bogged down with the tie ins and cameo's. Both sequels wouldve gotten a better reception as new games and reminded people of the old square when new ip's were frequent as opposed to taking the same character and cramming her into every interesting game idea they have. Imagine Vagrant Story with Cloud or if they put Cloud into Xenogears. Yea...Thats what theyre doing these days.

I just want Type-0 dubbed or localized and VS13 to not be cancelled and release before this gen ends. Also really hope Bravely Default gets released here.

I find it really strange & unsettling that Squarenix usually localizes their games really quick but for some reason FF Type-0 has not.

Look Kingdom Hearts 3D, FF Theatrythm, FF 3 and some others i missed were announced to be localized like within months of their Japanese release dates.

What is taking FF Type-0 so long? Having played the game i understand that it is a huge game for the PSP with a lot of text & voice work. Still that is still inexcusable to not having announce that it is actually coming over to the west.

Heck even say that they are making the necessary changes so it can be played on the Vita, that would please fans waiting for the game.

It's not an amazing FF game, no. But, it is a good game, whether you care or not, people -do- like the game. And quite of few of my friends who have been fans of the series since the beginning enjoyed it, so no, it isn't just "first timers" who liked it.

The truth is, it isn't good enough to be called a real FF but that is just unfortunate for the game itself, if it didn't have that and expectation attached, it'd be well received.

It is condescending of people such as yourself, who again, assume they are better for not liking the game. It's stupid. SE obviously had some form of plan with capitalising on the series brand and they went through it. I'm willing to bet VS is delayed more due to technical issues than anything.
