Sleeping Dogs 2: What we want to see

CVG - Everyone loves rooting for the underdog, look no further than Sleeping Dogs if you need proof. As another of Activision's Grand Theft Auto-aping True Crime games, it received muted optimism at best. Few mourned when it was given a vote of no confidence and was unceremoniously tossed aside.

Sometimes it's better to not put out demos, I played the Sleeping Dogs demo and there's no way I'm getting the game now, I hated the combat, if that's the focus of the game I'm not interested.

I found it hard to adjust at first but then I mastered it and found it great.

Anyway, what I want to see in SD2:

1. A longer campaign.
2. Online multiplayer.
3. More accessible buildings.
4. The dates be more important and to have more than just one.
5. Be able to explore more of HK i.e. Kowloon.
6. Fly planes and helicopters.
7. Ditch the tedius hacking.

Agree with most. I actually like the hacking mini games and think they're better done than in a lot of games. I don't want MP; I'd rather they devote their time to making the best SP they can.

They need to bring Wei back for the follow up & make the next one a bit longer ,larger.

I'm not buying another game developed or publshed by square enix until Final Fantasy Versus XIII comes out!

Bummer man. You're gonna have to skip a massive catalog of games for at least the next 5 to 8 years.

Way to early to be speculating about the Second game.

How about they change the real games name back to True Crime instead of renaming it Sleeping Dogs. The game is just horrible period. The combat is so off compared to Batman which pretty much perfects its which is much more satisfying.

MaxXAttaxX4251d ago (Edited 4251d ago )

How about you research the fact that the game was NEVER True Crimes to begin with and was made by an entirely different developer.

The developer himself said that it started as a brand new IP.
Activision saw it, picked it up, branded it 'True Crime'(based on similarities) and later dropped it, presumably because it didn't meet Activisions yearly/short release schedules.

I'm glad Square Enix picked it up and the game was able to regain its identity.

I loved the combat. It was more grounded than Batman which was too easy to counter attacks on. It was less acrobatic than Batman, but I liked the focus on martial arts moves as well as the moves learned by leveling up.
The game was far from "horrible", GTFO.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil9d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai9d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing698d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle8d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal8d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa8d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal8d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.

Do they explain in the video why there are two numbers 3? Starfield and Tears of the Kingdom?

It's always refreshing to see games embracing the streaming community.

Bloodborne is a game I still restart and play every few months. I would welcome just a re release in 60fps with a visual upgrade. It's a perfect game. If I was king for a day I would include the randomizer mods because then it would be a kind of rogue like and I could play it forever.

gleepot355d ago

Sure, ill take a sequel to all of these.
