Assassin's Creed 4 features new characters

In an interview game director Alex Hutchinson spilled his beans about the future of Assassin's Creed. According to Hutchinson Ubisoft will make AC games as long as gamers want it. In Assassin's Creed 3 some story lines will end (Desmond Miles) and in Assassin's Creed 4 new characters will come to life.

"In Assassin's Creed 3 some story lines will end (Desmond Miles)"
Thanks a lot for the major spoiler. /s

Lord_Sloth4262d ago

He didn't say Desmond dies or anything, just that this game will conclude his story segment. We might see him in AC4 as the head of the guild or something regardless.

Kran4262d ago (Edited 4262d ago )

Its not that. Its the fact we now know we probably wont see Desmond in AC4.

But like you said, we might see him

I prefer him as the role he plays though (a sort of side-main character)

Xof4262d ago

It was billed as a trilogy from the begin with.

Like saying Darth Vader's story ends with Return of the Jedi, it's only a spoiler if you're a complete and utter moron.

"it's only a spoiler if you're a
complete and utter moron"
Take it easy with the insults.
Not everyone remembers, or cares about, every word that a game dev says.

Moby-Royale4262d ago

I'm beginning to see a pattern with you.

*SPOILERS* You are a rude little kid.

Nate-Dog4261d ago

Orly? Because most trilogies don't have 5 games out before the end of the trilogy is released.

sriki0074261d ago

that's obvious, because of the whole 2012 thing..

Eamon4262d ago

Always knew AC3 wouldn't be the final entry in the series.

If it was, Ubisoft would have been advertising it as the conclusion to the entire franchise but they've only been saying it will conclude Desmond's story.

R_aVe_N4262d ago

As long as they keep the story fresh I don't think they will have a problem. The problem with the last 3 is it was a continued story which might have turned a few people off. From what I said about peoples complaints was the story got boring. I think if they keep it like a final fantasy they will do fine.

Hazmat134262d ago

AC 1, AC 2, AC brotherhood, AC revelations, AC 3 and AC 4 announced eh idk got bored of it after 1. this it got stranger and stranger. but looks cool ill give it that. native americans FTW!

LAWSON724261d ago

How the hell did 2 bore you it was way better than 1

user54670074262d ago (Edited 4262d ago )

Despite how bland Desmond was he's a part of the AC franchise...take that away and it will feel they will be forcing in stories. It's up to Ubisoft to make Desmond interesting, we can't be surprzed Desmond is the way he is because we hardly see him.

I mean wouldn't it be good to finally do a full game with Desmond in mordern day city with brief flashbacks to historical events featuring a new Assassin. Doing a flashback would be great since they wouldn't need the Animus and when you finish the flashback leel you could continue with Desmond

MoB214262d ago

I totally agree.. Im not sure how interested i'll be in the series once Desmond's story concludes. I for one love the subplot to the game and am really excited to see the conclusion. But calling the game AC4 and not having Desmond in there just wouldn't seem right.

user54670074262d ago (Edited 4262d ago )

All they really need to do for the next trilogy is get rid of the Animus an just include flasback levels that relate to he story we are experiencing in he present...like it may relate to the templars new plans Desmond has to stop.

The flashbacks would then explain the templar plan like it could of been done before and the templars in the present are trying to do it again.

Anything is possible but Desmond has to stay...they already got rid of Lucy, Desmond is the only connection left to AC. I mean what would happen if you took Nathan Drake away from Uncharted or do a Heavenly Sword 2 without Nariko...it just wouldn't work. Hell even the Halo spin offs don't feel as epic because your not playing as the Master Chief.

MoB214262d ago

Yeah, and even the Halo spin-offs at least had something to do with the main plot. It seems as if they will go in a whole new direction with AC4

rpd1234262d ago

But Assassins Creed really wouldn't work modern day. In modern cities there are rarely any footholds on buildings and guns would completely ruin traditional Assassin's Creed gameplay. It'd be cool as a spin off type series where they switch things up and introduce new game play. But it shouldn't be Assassins Creed 4.

Ubisoft's Recent Antics Have Me Fearful For The Sands of Time Remake

Hanzala from eXputer: "With Ubisoft's practices becoming increasingly anti-consumer lately, the destruction of The Sands of Time Remake looks almost inevitable."

Hey Ubi, here's a gun, don't shoot yourself in the foot.

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
