I’m back again, just a different game. This time, Sonic the Hedgehog. I think we can all agree that there are a ton of things that need fixing, but I’m only going to tackle five points. Some of them are very important, while others are just little things that make zero sense to me. Enjoy!
SEGA has announced Fearless: Year of Shadow, a campaign that celebrates Sonic the Hedgehog and his brooding acquaintance, Shadow.
Shadow the Hedgehog, even 20 years later, remains one of the SEGA's most unhinged and comically edgy titles ever.
GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.
The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."
It's called Sonic Generations.
Just do that again and everything will be fine.
Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations proved that 3D Sonic games can be good, so I don't see why making Sonic exclusively in 2D is "fixing" things.
Other than that, everything else in this article has been stated before. In fact, it was stated during the Sonic 06/Unleashed era. I think Sonic's doing pretty well now, better than he's been in a long time at least.
Step 1: Stop trying to take Sonic into genres and places that will always fail.
Step 2: Go back to retro 2D gameplay... like Mega Man 9 and 10.
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Profit
Step 5: Repeat as necessary...
Copy whatever Mario is doing
"He is a fast character and that’s why we love(d) him. We just want the old Sonic back."
NO! I loved him because of the clever level designs, reflexes and building momentum to reach top speed, like it was in 1 and 2.
