Gamestatics - "Activision Blizzard announced over the weekend that the World of Warcraft subscription numbers continue to be in decline. After 80,000 subscribers jumped ship last quarter, this quarter they found their total numbers dwindle by another 1.2 million people, reducing the king of MMO’s to a “mere” 9.1 million subscribers, which still makes it the most popular MMORPG in the world…
…but the numbers show no signs of improving, even with Mists of Pandara’s September 25th launch date looming."
Blizzard Entertainment has announced the opening of beta registrations for “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” inviting players to explore new subterranean worlds beneath Azeroth.
Danish from eXputer: "Despite Blizzard's attempt to give a fresh new spin to World of Warcraft, some fans still seem to be stuck in the past."
HG writes: "Blizzard is usually pretty bad at keeping secrets, but the company somehow managed to keep this one under wraps until now. Plunderstorm is a special limited-time event that’s basically World of Warcraft’s take on the Battle Royale genre."
Ugh, they're not GOING to get better BEFORE the next expansion comes out. People have already done everything there is to do in Cataclysm and are simply waiting to renew the DAY Mists comes out. It's really not that hard to figure out, I barely saw anyone around right before Cataclysm launched, then that night the major cities were swarming with people.
WOW has been around for a long time! New game coming?
Wow will never die and i have no idea why, that game messes up your physique hardcore.
Numbers will of course increase once the new expansion comes out. I haven't played WoW in a year and a half but I am planning on checking out MoP, most likely the same as millions of other former WoW players.
It even pains me a little to admit it after Diablo III, but I am still interested in seeing what's new in the game I spent years of my life playing.
