Gameguru "Many believed that Doom 4 was cancelled after being announced way back in 2008. But a source tells us that the game is in development for next generation machines and looks stunning. The more interesting bit is that this game is set to be a launch title for one of the consoles.
The Rage team has fully moved to the development of the title now and construction of this game is allegedly fully underway. Our source also reveals that audiences can expect to see a full-blown showcase of the game by early 2013."

That's what I was suspecting when the announced Doom 3 for this console generation.
Quake 4 was launched around the same time as Xbox 360, I think its gonna head towards Msoft's next gen console
Exclusive launch title? Well, we all know that John Carmack favors the 360. So it wouldn't be surprising if he launches it for the Xbox 8, 720,whatever. Rumors of having a pc running DX11 game and porting it to the next Xbox with no problems is tempting.
Once again, more hints towards the coming next generation. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Valve also announced Source 2 and Half Life Ep3/3 at the same time.
And @ those folks up top, Doom 4 will most definitely be a multiplatform title (PC/PS4/X720).
This and Half-Life always set the bar at the start of the gen. Can't wait.
