What You Didn’t Know About The Elder Scrolls Online: Big Bad Bethesda

There has never been a better opportunity for the industry to finally push away from World of Warcraft-ism – with the Western world’s new RPG darling at the helm – and yet it seems even this project is determined to follow the hollow. What I do know about Elder Scrolls Online: It's got a looooong way to go before it generates any sort of hype for me.

That is just awful, lets make generic mmorpg, and make sales on the Elder Scrolls name? Awesome idea!

Reminds me of what has happened to Game of Thrones. However, Star Wars seems to buck the trend, and Warcraft was really good (as was Everquest). But that was because they were groundbreaking.

I think you are right, I don't need a generic MMORPG.

I'm more hyped for this than I ever was for Skyrim. Skyrim was the worst Elder Scrolls game yet so if anything this will at least be better.

Even if that were true, there hasn't been an Elder Scrolls game yet that wasn't fantastic. Saying Skyrim was the worst Elder Scrolls game yet is like saying that it might not be Game of the Year this time. And it's still a false statement.

Regardless, if you call yourself an Elder Scrolls fan and you're excited about a generic MMO being better than Skyrim, you should be ashamed of yourself.
