The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Rewind Review (Empty Lifebar)

Having played a ton of Skyrim and Dawnguard lately, I decided that I wanted to take a break from the fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls series, but still had a desire to play a game of the same style. I had only seen friends play Oblivion before, but had never picked it up myself. So when I found the game of the year edition at Best Buy for $20 I decided to buy it and finally give it a shot. I was concerned that it would be difficult to go back to Oblivion seeing as it is over five years old now, but quickly realized that this was not the case.

Same, Oblivion was the first Rpg of its kind that I have played. I have nothing but fond memories.

Imo Oblivion is better than skyrim. If they only combined the two as far as features, that would be awesome.

I like Skyrim more than Oblivion but Morrowind better than Skyrim lol.

I agree. I know people always say how there is a sh*t ton of things to do in Skyrim, but honestly, I completely ran out of things to do in Skyrim after 100ish hours of gameplay. I only had the motivation to create 3 characters in total.

On Oblivion, god I had to have put over 300-400 hours into that game. I made 20+ characters, and every playthrough, I still felt like I was finding new things to do... I never had the luxury of playing Morrowind all the way through though:( I didn't own the game and when I played it, I WANTED to get it so bad but I couldn't ever find a copy. (This was before I got really into using the internet. I used be a very offline type of gamer).

you can get morrowind on steam for pretty cheap man you should check it out.

Reverent4280d ago

Well I was worried it wouldn't feel right after having gone through Oblivion and Skyrim, but I guess that's just silly. Yeah, I'll definitely pick it up, especially now that I've been getting into PC gaming lately.

Yeah, I played the shit out of oblivion far more than morrowind and skyrim combined. Although I did like the story in morrowind better, oblivion for me was the breakthrough in the elder scrolls series. A total of 700+ hours across three characters. Skyrim seemed to take so much away that I appreciated in morrowind and oblivion. Skyrim got dry pretty quick, where in morrowind and oblivion, I always found something new to do.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩
