You know that scene at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey, where Dave Bowman went speeding through a tunnel of light and nothing made a whole lot of sense? Have you ever wanted that experience to be made into a video game? If so, congratulations, because Sony’s latest PSN title looks to be the closest thing you’ll get short of an ill-timed movie tie-in. Dyad puts you in control of a tentacled ball of light, as it accelerates through psychedelic tunnels of colour, “hooking” enemies along the way. It plays like a strange combination of Tempest and Rez, but unfortunately, lacks the originality and charm that either titles possess.

Hi everyone! We’ve got a serious Flash Sale for you over the next couple days, with more than 20 games available for just $0.99 each. The Flash Sale starts right now, so head over to PlayStation Store and snap up some awesome games to play this summer.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I wasn't completely won over by Dyad from Right Square Bracket Left Square Bracket. Don't get me wrong — I totally appreciate that the developer took a risk and attempted to make something vastly different from a lot of what's out there. That said, it was hard for me to fully enjoy what Dyad had to offer because I simply didn't think it was deep or rewarding enough.
Deserves an 8 at bare minimum.
