PlayStation Vita content. Yay.

Sev4293d ago

Way past due, though. It's been a rough month ad a half since Gravity Rush released. I know the system is just getting started, but there should have been some more PSN releases ready to hold things over.

bostoner4293d ago

The people who disagreed with all you obviously don't have a vita. I'm sure they'll disagree with me too.

PoSTedUP4293d ago

yeah i sold all my vita games (3) except GR bc its DLable and bought liberty city stories that just released and harvest moon for psp. really good fun games.

ps vita content yeah. but it's still bad and not to my liking. isnt vice city stories suppose to release the 24th? that's what i herd...

Sev4293d ago

Vice City Stories is said to become compatible with the Vita starting on the 24th. But it's already unofficially compatible now if you try it.

decimalator4293d ago

You can't get Metal Gear Peace Walker from the store, but if you download it to a PS3 you can load it up through the content manager. At least I was able to a few firmwares ago, I might have just gotten lucky.

The one thing I will say about the Vita drought is it has gotten me to take a 2nd look at some PSP titles I missed or neglected. Cladun and Cladun X2 are great. And of course Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is hours and hours of awesome... but sad because I fear it's the last Monster Hunter we'll see on a PlayStation platform thanks to stupid f'ing Capcom.

Oh_Yeah4293d ago

you can already get malicious though? just sign up for psn europe. bad game btw

PoSTedUP4293d ago

ah i see sev, thanks. ill have to figure out of i can DL it form ps3 bc i was having problems/ i dont wanna buy it and not be able to port it...

and yeah they look good, and monster hunter freedom looks excellent i really want it. i just bought fate/EXTRA which looks to be one of the greatest digital novels similar to psersona3. ill let you know ima bot to play it now

Anything for my Vita is welcomed.

decimalator4293d ago

I got all excited... but then I got sad.

Our children's children will call it the "Great Vita Drought of '12"...

There was a pretty decent launch window, and then it's sort of sucked ever since. Didn't they learn their lesson with the PSP? The PS3? Software sells hardware. To some extent the reverse is true too, but if there is nothing to play on the device, what is the point of the device?

-Mika-4293d ago (Edited 4293d ago )

Honestly im not even surprise by this drought. I already knew this was going to happen. If you did your research. You would have known too. I love my vita and the backlog of psp games is helping me through this drought

@Sev thxs for the answer. I can't wait then.

PoSTedUP4293d ago

@dec yeah i guess most of the good games started developement all at once, seems like they will all hit at once (starting Oct. and beyond) besides Ragnarok oddsey which i cannot wait for.

decimalator4293d ago

@Mika not that I'm surprised, just disappointed. PS3 got a slow start because of the lack of games. The PSP died because the games dried up because of piracy. I was just optimistic that Sony would have tried to line up the pipeline with at least a few morsels every couple weeks.

Granted, there have been some pretty decent games already and we're only about 5 months into its life in North America...

Baka-akaB4293d ago

truth be told they released to much at once . Most of those launch games would have sold better if spread from mars till now , precisely to prevent the current drought .

And it doesnt help that too many psp titles arent playable yet

kikizoo4293d ago

"PS3 got a slow start because of the lack of games."

because of price...only ! (even if the first months never are te best, pas3 lineup was better than competition ones, so..it was not the problem)

"The PSP died because the games dried up because of piracy."

died ? in your head only, look@sales.. (but you are right, not enough games, like nintendo's home consoles approximatly, and way less than ps2, ps3)

Sadly, it's not much, and nowhere near enough to excuse this dreadful patch of nothingness from June to October.

I swear, each time Sony makes a new console... handheld or otherwise, the deliver an impressive machine on every level... but then seem to go way, way out of their way to completely sabotage it. That's the only -possible- explanation for this kind of crap.

NBT914292d ago

I agree, I have learnt to not really buy Sony consoles on release. I got my PS3 on release and thankfully Oblivion released on it shortly after which was enough to hold me over for about a year or two before games started to actually release.

I just sold my Vita for a 3DS... Best decision I have made gaming wise. Enjoying playing Kingdom Hearts, Mario, StarFox and Zelda instead of literally just Uncharted Golden Abyss.

Not that I am against the Vita, it is a great system but the software is not even close yet. I believe it will eventually be a success though, even this fall with All Stars I will possibly end up buying another one =D but for now... No.

Conzul4292d ago

OH HO! See what he did there? XD

TENTONGUN4293d ago

yeah i know. im personaly waiting for a madden vita demo. buyin it anyway, but cant wait to check it out ya know

-Mika-4293d ago

Does anybody know how much malicious is going to cost. Will it be $10?

Sev4293d ago

Yep, $9.99 is what I saw.

JonnyBigBoss4293d ago

Rainbow Moon is already getting DLC? What!?

Wintersun6164293d ago

It already has in the EU store, but it's only the kind of DLC you can buy Rainbow Pearls etc with. Not actual content.

Sev4293d ago

Careful of all of the PlayStation Store Preview knock-offs lately. There have been three new ones in the past 10 days alone. Stick with the tried and true original.

Trenta274293d ago

Oh yay. Two new games?! They must want to spoil us!

Dragon's Dogma Is Still Amazing

Although the sequel is on the near horizon, the original Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen remains a fantastic action RPG, still worth playing.

A lot of the quest lines in Skyrim are good(not all and they don’t add up as a whole if you do thieves guild mage fighters guild etc) The dragons are very lame after the first few times and the combat is clunky as it always has been. The stupid sprint button is ridiculous.

Overall I agree DD is the better rpg game.

Both have theirs strengths and weaknesses but Skyrim should be so much more being the 5th game in Elder Scrolls series.

Excited to see what they add on to DD 2.

Unfortunately all they have done to Elder Scrolls since Morrowind is take things out (minus the sprint button which is so lame because you can kill dragon god like creatures but can’t run for more than ten seconds without getting tired)

anast50d ago (Edited 50d ago )

I liked the vampire questline and the return to Morrowind was okay, but the problem with Skyrim was the lack of consequence. There is almost no point in the quests. After I realized this, I started messing around with the mods and then quit playing. Though, I did spend 300 hrs. on modded content, but this is telling of how bad the game kind of is.

If DD was the size or close to the size of Skyrim, It would have been the primer fantasy game back then. I hope they up the size with DD2.

5 Games To Play While Waiting For Dragon's Dogma II

Daman Shelley from NoobFeed writes - Dragon's Dogma is truly a one-of-a-kind game, and there really is no other game like it, but there are a few that come close. Whether with their fantasy settings, the ability to climb mountains, or just with the overall same charm as Capcom’s iconic RPG. Here's a list of games that will hopefully scratch that Dragon's Dogma itch.

every gamer should play this game

gold_drake100d ago

cant wait for it, feb and march are busy busy months ha.

SovereignSnaKe100d ago

I can still hear the title screen music in my head after nearly 12 years. Loved every minute of it.

MrNinosan100d ago

I have no issues filling my time til DD2.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will probably me more than enough.
More terrified I won't be done in time.

DivineHand125100d ago

Try not to burn yourself out before the game releases. This is going to be a long and immersive RPG like the first one.

The games in this article are all great and I believe the people who are excited for Dragons Dogma 2 probably already played most of those games.

For now, I recommend you prepare yourself for long play sessions if you will be picking up Dragons Dogma at launch.
