Over the past few days, IGN was listing the top 50 manufacturers of video games of all time, and the first and only, Nintendo EAD came out on top. Nintendo EAD (Entertainment Analysis and Development) is responsible for some of the most influential video franchises in the history of games, including Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Metroid, Pikmin and The Legend of Zelda.
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
Hanzla from eXputer inquires: "If Xbox can care about preserving its games and legacy, what exactly is wrong with Nintendo, trying to kill game preservation single-handedly?"
Ahh yes the good old game preservation of saving all your games to a removable hhd on the Xbox 360, taking it round your mates house, setting up multiple tvs to
Be met with “save data corrupted, please re download”
Or how about removing 360 games
From the store
, download them now or else, and, better hope to god that save data doesn’t corrupt, or it’s lost for ever
Nice one ☝️
This is just a scammy PR move to distract from the fact they are going digital only and trying to push streaming and subscriptions only.
No gaming company has pushed harder to remove ownership than Microsoft.
Without discs there is no preservation, preservation can't be done by the rights holders it can only be done by the consumers, anything else is a lie.
Nobody wants this. Sales or the lack of it in the case of XBOX is very telling. I wonder how the adorably all digital series X will fare. Adorably dismal perhaps?
Only time will tell, but for from someone like me suspecting that Xbox is trying to gracefully exit the console market, that "forward compatibility" team is trying to get Xbox games playing on Windows PCs. I mean, it's nice that they're not planning on exiting with a "enjoy your games while the hardware still works" message, so that's nice. They still have a brand to protect via Microsoft so probably feel obligated to have a better exit strategy.
Danish from eXputer: "Nintendo has historically gone against player-made content and emulation of its games. This has done much to harm the company's image."
They need to stop announcing these mods and fan remakes until they're finished. Finish it, upload it, and then if Nintendo dmca's it tough shit. Once it's online, people can share it around, even if the original download gets taken down.
This is all coming from the mouth of short-sighted fandom and grifting madness.
No.... it wont. There is a clear defined reason why they don't. This is nothing new. Make your own shi7 from your own original ideas especially if you are trying to capitalize of it it. Duh.
Yeah, hire people that have zero respect or understanding for an established process. Wow. Yep. Totally makes sense.
Wicked, its opposite day. I should wear my clothes inside out also.
Pong on the Atari with a lot of games were polished to where they had minimal to little hiccups while playing so I guess those games are technical feat. Angry birds is polished without any problems also which is amazing. I can't believe games like god of war 3 which runs more than 200 times the coding of the most advanced Wii games suffers from minimal hiccups. That's sucks and must mean that the Atari is better than most systems out today since it has a lot of simple coded games that runs smooth
Oy. Let the mudslinging begin.
I would agree with the sentiment if only because every Nintendo makes is always polished to a brittle shine. Take Wind Waker's graphics or the fluidity of Mario Galaxy's gameplay for example. There's more I could list but it would make the comment ho on forever.
Yeah, yeah, I know I'll be accused of being an obsessed fanboy. I guess if that's how people wish to debate then that's fine. But what can I say for you, I'm just a fan of the games they make; I'm no different from any fan of Sony's who will argue for their case or a fan of Microsoft's. I honestly would like to know how that's a bad thing.
You really can't spell ignorant without IGN. Nintendo is not the best game developer of all time. Maybe if this was the 90s but in 2012. Heck no!. Pushing out the same ip with little gameplay changes in between does not make them the best.
Sony on the other hand should be #1. Im not even being a fanboy when i say that. They created so many new ip this gen ALONE that are really fun and memorable. Heavy rain,Uncharted,Folklore,Fat princess,Infamous,Pixel junk,Escape plan and im pretty sure im forgetting more but that shows how awesome sony is as a game developer. All of the agme they released have been really great and it sad that other people don't realize it. They should of honestly been #1.

Rated E For Everyone
Well thats a big claim. I think Sony has the best developers in making unique games that you pretty much can't see on any other console.
