Could? it should have been in production years ago, for fucks sake. if square wasn't pouring resources into re-ports and sequels no one asked for hell we would probably have both kingdom Hearts 3 & Verus XIII by now. but no, like seriously how many times are they gonna port old FF games, and supposedly a FFXIII-3 is now in the works. the one question i ask myself is who is asking for this. like honestly who asked for a FFX HD remake? nobody..... who asked for FFXIII-2? nobody..... who asked for KH3? EVERBODY!!!!!!!!!! whos been asking for just a damn release date let alone more gameplay for Versus XIII? EVERYBODY!!!!!

It isnt cancelled, they have simply been looking for a way to make it multiplat without causing suicedes.

It will come out heavily modified but improved under the name of Final Fantasy XV on PS3 AND 360 and perhaps WiiU.

That way SE is happy because it will finally be multiplat and PS3 loyalists cant say they made Versus multiplat.

FFX remake made me happy because i can play a decent ff game in good graphics and trophies....dont wont a ff13-3

Exactly, they can't release one game everybody wants but they can pump out 40 + hour stories of FFXIII and are now possibly announcing a XIII-3. Not to mention their spinoffs on wii and ds.

There's a fact here, and it's that short time ago a new title entered production phase. My thoughts here are either on FF15 or KH3.

As they're not hiring a lot of new people, the team behind FF13/13-2 (that were actually working on versus, as stated some months ago) and the KH Team working on Versus 13 were split into 3 groups, I think: two big ones (major production starting) for FF15 and KH3, and another smaller one, as the major work should be done, still with V13.

What does this mean? Basically, if you can still bear with my english, that V13 is entering the "final lap", and new projects are in the works. Be ready for some surprises in september 1-2 (there will be no final fantasy 13-3 for ps3, I predict).

I hope this rumor is fake. It was my most anticipated game.

Just by looking at the CGI, gameplay and some voice acting from Jan2011 trailer, it look like the game was progressing. It looked like millions of $ have been spent on the game.

Abandoning it all for KH3 makes no sense because wouldn't Tetsuya Nomura be pissed off (I assume it was his game/idea or even his dream project) and forced to work on KH3?

He directed all of thr KH games on PS2, PSP and 3/DS, so he's the only one that can direct KH3. Another director will suck. Maybe he's leaving Sqaure Enix if true.

Idk but it wouldn't surprise me if KH3 does release before Versus. IMO its a win win situation here; if VS is cancelled then work can finally start on KH3 which is very good, if not we are still eventually getting versus so true or not; we are getting a great game from SE one way or the other, right?

the flambaiters are trying to make sure that game gets buried and gets hate towards it.

the game will come out, no worries on that and since its been in full production for 2 years im sure we have 1 year or a lil bit more for the game to launch.

and personally, i want ff13-3. the ending screams for its need in 13-2. tho i much rather have versus :P.

they are stupid, if they have never canceled a game before why would they cancel a highly anticipated game?

even ff13 started development on the ps2, then they scrapped the whole thing and started over on the ps3.

at worst case thats what would happen to versus. there is a complete script already, costumes designed, gameplay done. all they have to do is finish it and since its only been in real production for 2 years then it will come out soon enough.

Has anyone actually read the article? I constantly say that it is a rumor. This article is actually classed as a rumor if you look closely enough.... I'm not stating this as a fact at all.
