Holy BBQ sauce....runs to Xbox and changes password.

velocitygamer4293d ago

No surprise here, most of those 7 year olds on Xbox Live have the memory of goldfish anyway.

nukeitall4293d ago (Edited 4293d ago )

Unfortunately a quick draw of the assumption doesn't equate to truth. Those passwords seems to almost be universally used often on most websites! Also, ones you entered your credentials on your Xbox 360, it keeps a token so you don't have to type in your password again.

Doesn't surprise me that those are the most breached passwords. If I wanted to try and gain an illegitimate account, those are the first ones I try. Next is date of birth!

Jazz41084293d ago (Edited 4293d ago )

I'm sure those same 7 year olds use those password on psn as well but psn is succeptable to all your info being stolen regardless of passwords.

Can't wait for the article:
Microsoft Gave My Password to Hackers

My account has been hacked and Xbox General Manager Alex Garden is to blame. In his blog post yesterday he just up and decides to give out my password for Xbox Live to anyone who wants it. Now I've been hacked and I'm suing Microsoft...

Bereaver4293d ago

I know for a 100% fact that sellers have many moles inside microsoft sucking up passwords and account details.

Why? Because I've talked to a seller here in China and they've said their account/password lists are limitless.

I've said my story before and had so many down votes but I'm seriously not joking.

OC_MurphysLaw4293d ago

If you had either of those as your password you deserved to get hacked.

WeskerChildReborned4293d ago

Haha yea i've always been smart enough to have a pretty good password.

Hufandpuf4293d ago

i bet it's WeskerChildReborned?

Or maybe ChrisLeonBarry? :)

nukeitall4293d ago

The thing with it is, you will get people that claim I never gave out any information, but I got hacked.

Nah it only requires a stupid decision!

HammockGames4293d ago

Yup, hacking and ID theft can still happen to anyone. All it takes is a bad decision, a retail store you shopped at being hacked, etc.

Still a good idea not to stack the cards in the hackers' favor, aye? Some people - like folks using these passwords - actually seem to WANT to be hacked. lol

HammockGames4293d ago (Edited 4293d ago )

Absolutely agreed. It's amazing how ignorant people still are about hacking and ID theft in this day and age. Including parents who tag game consoles with their credit card info, but then let the kid pick a password like either of the examples here.

If a toddler can guess your password, you're probably a moron and deserve what's coming.

I'm not even sure if it would help including a "password strength" indicator when people first sign up. Maybe better than nothing though...?

ApolloTheBoss4293d ago

They're the most commonly-breached codes anywhere.

TheColbertinator4293d ago

Thankfully my password is trannyloli69

Patriots_Pride4293d ago

Xbox 360 Turns 18: Three Cheers to Live, Halo, and Red Rings

The Xbox 360 launched in North America 18 years ago, and is now officially old enough to buy you a drink in Europe.

Great platform, and many of its games (not bc) still hold up well to this day. Like the PS3, I keep a 360 hooked up for those games you can't play any other way.

The last gasp of greatness from XBox, you are missed, except the RROD that was lame, but amazing exclusives until the Kinect dropped.

TheBrainZ149d ago

So many brilliant games. I still have one stored somewhere.

LG_Fox_Brazil149d ago

I really enjoyed my X360, some great exclusives on it. Used to play the shit out ot Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, two masterpieces

I remember when Live turned five and they had special edition controllers made and everything. Kind of wished they would do that again for the 20th.

Orchard520d ago

Happy Birthday. OG XBL (and later 360 XBL) really revolutionized online gaming on console.

Crows90520d ago

Never understood the obsession with live...but I was gaming online on PC so not sure too much of what live did that the PlayStation didn't.

Profchaos519d ago

I had a PS2 and it's online experience was fine but it didn't have the same level of polish voice chat never worked for me but I was trying to play from Australia where not many people played PS2 online to the point where many devs simply dropped the online mode from the pal version.
That's not all PS2 games mind you there were plenty that worked perfectly but it was more on the dev and not the platform

During that era I also played a fairly large amount on online PC games and they were undoubtedly better than both systems. PS2 from functionality and Xbox because it was free

Playing my friends original Xbox it was a really polished experience it felt robust yet simple things just worked there was zero config.

Crows90519d ago (Edited 519d ago )

Yeah but the time ps3 came the experience was the same on both based on what I played...not too much online though to be honest. But I do think that the xbox did help bring online into the console space a lot. As well as PC games to consoles.

Profchaos519d ago (Edited 519d ago )

Today would of been the perfect day to drop halo 2 the original bc version free on gwg.... If only
