An eGamer journalists speaks about Spider-Man in gaming, and how the famous web-slinger has been stepping it up as of late.
From the Amazing Spider-Man series to the most recent titles and DLCs, explore which Spider-Man game deserves to be ranked first and why.
Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Ultimate Spider-Man use to be my favorite until Insomniac games took over.
My favorite and still champion Spiderman PS2, followed by Marvels Spiderman2, then Miles Morales, followed by Marvels Spiderman, and finally Ultimate Spiderman.
I need to drag out my PS3 and try Web of Shadows, owned the game for years and years and never played.
Spider-Man (2000), Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions were all so good! I have fond memories playing them.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a hotly anticipated game, and one that I'm desperate to play, but why wait when you can play Spider-Man Web of Shadows right now?
web of shadows had more unique fun ideas for it to me. spider man 1 and 2 wiil surely be cool though
Ultimate is overall better. Web of Shadows had an interesting idea, but the mission structure in the first half made no sense.
TW: “With the recent release of the sequel film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, I’ve been revisiting the astounding world of the Spider-Verse, enjoying both the prequel and the new sequel film in all their glory; and it’s led me to ask one question — why the hell isn’t there a Spider-Verse game?”
I too would like a whole game with the entire world looking like the animated movie. It could be awesome
As they used to be? Spiderman 2 was the best Spiderman game ever, and that's pretty old. I think the newest one is a step in the right direction, but the fact that you could attach a web to the clouds was stupid and completely lost my pre-order. The best thing for me about Spiderman 2 was the fact that your webslinging had physics. You could gain momentum with each precisely timed swing and you'd have to plan out as you went where you had to shoot to catch something solid. That to me, is what made it "amazing". See what I did there? Lol
My favorite Spiderman game is still Maximum Carnage.
Yeah? Tell that to Activision! After a Support inquiry detailing the fact that my Save file is no longer readable (it's not corrupt), it doesn't matter how good the game is. Activision basically told me "So sorry you're having this issue. Delete your Game Data and Save Files and start a new game!"
Yeah, my $60 was one thing, but the hours lost...worthless (apparently).
I did enjoy the game, but this is a major bug that needs to be fixed and, as far as I'm concerned, it renders the game pointless. You could play an hour, or many hours and you all have the potential to have a broken save file.
Furthermore, Ultimate Spider-Man was one of my favorite, following Spider-Man 2.
Actually I think spider-man games today are rushed money-grubbing crap. Spider-man 2 and Spider-man Web of shadows were great games on my opinion.
