ZombiU May Be Headed For XBox 360

ZombiU may be the best showcase of the dual-screen format offered by the Wii U, but according to Ubisoft, it may not remain a Nintendo exclusive. Design director Gabrielle Shrager states that Microsoft's SmartGlass technology opens the door for the game to find a home on the XBox 360.

It would also work for PS3+PSV...

So, if this is true, then it would be easy.

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

As long as MS's check doesn't bounce. Then don't get your hopes up.

They will have to change the game title to zombie360.

Soldierone4296d ago

Its Ubisoft so its not surprising at all....

They either print off money with stupid casual experiences with Nintendo, or are throwing timed exclusives at MS.

_-EDMIX-_4296d ago

yeah cause you know how much Ubisoft hates multiplats and money. They need MS to convince them otherwise.

LOL! Not sure what MS has to do with it. Ubisoft said they where very much open to releasing it as a multiplatform game. ie PS3,PC and 360.

guitarded774296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

It would surprise me since this official Ubisoft gameplay video says "Exclusively for Wii U" at the 3:00min marker.

http://nintendoeverything.c...

Disagree all you want, the video from Ubisoft says "Exclusively for Wii U".

MaxXAttaxX4295d ago

With SmartGlass, you HAVE to put the controller down.
And the number of Xbox 360 players able to actually play the game with SmartGlass is A LOT lower than 100% of Wii U players.

The guy clearly says that a straight port wouldn't be the same experience.
Now, if they're willing to ruin that experience for cheap profit, then yeah it could happen. But as of now, nope.

Jazz41084295d ago (Edited 4295d ago )

I think you are confusing MS checks with sonys. Do me a favor and look how good Sonys been doing profit wise and company worth the past 5 years. They are in the toilet and in major reorganization. If you have a cell phone or a tablet then you have smart glass. I gurantee there will be more smart glass devices out there then wi u controllers. People need to realize with smart glass its just an app that ms is making to work on your existing phones and tablets. You will not need to buy anything proprietory to use this ap.

They could use the ps move in ar form to replicate wiu scanner ability.

donman14296d ago

That would not work... a huge part of the gameplay mechanics is based on a second screen. Move cannot replicate that gaming experience. This game will be a Wii U exclusive for a long time to come if they ever do port it to Xbox360.

Skate-AK4296d ago

No move couldn't but a Vita totally could.

Machioto4296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

@don the move version would be adapted to emphasize move aiming or any pointing functionality would be handle by move, special items can be taken from a real-time menu like dead space or gestured, lick picking would use the navi sense you're stationary and the move would grant the ability to look around, the second screen isn't necessary because the feature of the controller allows the cool things to be done.

WeskerChildReborned4296d ago

Hopefully, but i'm still gonna pick it up on Wii U since that's the system it's made on.

Morrigan-Aensland4296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

The Wii u will barely have exclusive titles and the ones it'll have will be made by Nintendo. I also feel like most of the exclusives by Nintendo will look like Wii games but in hd so the system will only get taxed by multiplatform titles.

The Wii u should have been more powerful because multiplatform titles will look the same on the console as Xbox and ps3 so potential buyers will have less of a good reasoning for buying it if they already have Xbox or PS3.

Zombie u might end up being on ps3, Xbox, Wii u , vita and pc

stuna14296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

This just proves that ZombieU isn't some technical marvel that unable to be achieved on this gen consoles! In all honesty it kind of takes a little wind out of the sails of the WiiU.

I can see it now, why should I buy a new console when I can play it on one I already own? And although everyone won't have that frame of mind, enough will.

Nimblest-Assassin4296d ago

Wait... then whats it going to be called Zombi360? Zombita? Zombstation 3?

Its a wiiU exclusive game, its liscnesed by nintendo... and its going to stay on the wiiU.. period

avengers19784295d ago

this game could work on any platform... the same experience probably not but, really pretty much the same game.

SilentNegotiator4295d ago

But it would work best WITHOUT the gimmicky BS.

JohnApocalypse4296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

I can't see how it can work without smartglass. The whole game is based around touch screen

stuna14296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

I actually believe that it could work with kinects, but you would definitely need a regular controller also.

That's not saying that it's a good idea.

goldwyncq4296d ago

So it should be Zombi 360 on Xbox?

ApolloTheBoss4296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

They should call it ZomPS3 if it comes to PS3.

3dawg4296d ago

sure they can make it but then why call it zombiu? will be renamed zombix/zombi360/zombisg (smartglass)

ScubbaSteve4296d ago

ZombieU was a horrible name to begin with, it makes it sound generic. I hope they decide upon a completely different one by the time of release. Additionally, lets pray the effort they put into the name is not indicative of the effort put into the game.

Wingsfan244296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

Lol, I still honestly don't get the point of "U" in Wii U. I would rather have Wii HD than U. But, in the end I could care less about the name, I'm actually starting to get interested in picking it up, as it feels like its the only console that has a great variety and not just action action. Not saying the games coming are going to be bad at all, just, sometimes a game like Pikmin is what I need haha.

vickers5004295d ago

When I heard the name "ZombieU", I thought, oh, this sounds like some crappy on rails zombie shooter game whose only reason for existing is to show off the "innovative possibilities of the wii U".

It doesn't seem to be like that though (though I haven't really looked or read too much into it), but it is a terrible title. It SOUNDS cheap and gimmicky.

ChunkyLover534296d ago

SmartGlass opens the door for this type of thing, but ZombiU is supposed to rely heavily on the touch screen and those functions. Since not everyone has a Smartphone or Tablet, I doubt it'd be worth the time to bring it to the Xbox 360.

greenpowerz4296d ago (Edited 4296d ago )

I think smart phones are probably more capable when it comes to touch tech. Hell my Harmony One remote has a touchscreen but my smartphone and true tablet have superior hardware and software vs my remote and the Wii u tab-pad(if not the Wii u tablet would be hundreds of bucks)

Not everybody has a smartphone or tablet proper" but the owners of these devices are going to be much higher than owners of game consoles combined perhaps?

http://mashable.com/2012/02...

Smartglass can use the computing power of the external devices in ways we dont yet get. The Wii u tab pad will be something akin to a dedicated DS/vita to a console(but the Wii u pad will be nowhere near the hardware of vita or it would cost close to the Wii u console itself.

The Wii u tab pad will most likely be more like a specialized DS vs a true tablet or next gen true handheld(home theater in a box comby device)

If a double screen game came out with only touch in mind(which is the selling point made by nin) a smartphone and a tablet proper, could expand the possibilities by 100 fold. The tablet I'm planning on buying is more powerful than current gen consoles.

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
