5 Things NOT to do at an E3 presentation

E3 2012 was certainly one of the more forgettable years in the history of gaming’s most coveted event. The ‘big three’ companies in Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony all had lackluster showings, leaving gamers a tad uncertain and uninspired regarding the next year in games. Here’s five ways they could have improved upon their respective E3 conferences. [MMGN]

1. demo a kinect game
2. demo a kinect game
3. demo a kinect game
4. demo a kinect game
5. demo a kinect game

every time they do this, it ends up being embarrassing.

-story book time (sony)
-Usher (xbox)
-DS related (nintendo)
-lame ass actors pretending to be gamers (just ask me to do it)

So basically MS conference last year

meant to say this year.

"DON’T aim your conference at casual gamers"
I've never understood this one. There will be plenty of gamers watching your event, but casual gamers will not be among them. Odds are good they won't even know what E3 is, let alone care.

jslash4302d ago

I don't understand your point, your comment seems in agreeance with the notion that E3 conferences shouldn't be aimed at casual gamers?

deep_fried_bum_cake4302d ago

His point isn't that he doesn't get the article authors point about not aiming the conferences at casual gamers. It's that he doesn't get why they aim them at casual gamers. At least, that's what I'm getting from it.

Alos884301d ago

I'm saying that aiming your conference at casual gamers is pointless, because casual gamers don't watch E3.

Completely disagree with the pic of the south park creaters under "uninspiring presenters". Those guys are actually role models for people since no matter how many people come after them they keep doing what they enjoy doing...... ripping on people X3.

Besides they were pretty funny too. I watch E3 this to see new games and be entertained and they actually talked about things that people who watch south park would be interested to know about their game.

c1oudy4302d ago

I think they mentiooned them and the Pikimin guy, Shigeru something as being the only interesting ones to watch, with the rest being uninspiring.

Khordchange4302d ago (Edited 4302d ago )

"Pikimin guy, Shigeru something"

Shigeru Something? You mean Shigeru Miyamoto... You don't know who the father of gaming is? and you call yourself a gamer.

jslash4302d ago

If you'd taken the time to read my article you would've seen that I mentioned them and Miyamoto as the only entertaining presenters at the show. Please don't comment rubbish next time.

TekoIie4302d ago (Edited 4302d ago )

Read your own article.

"these were the two standouts in overall robotic, dull and strange presentations. Would it kill to show some personality?"

You also say that they were a hit among fans but then go to say they didn't show personality and felt "robotic" when in reality their sense of humour is whats most appealing to gamers.

They talked about how this game had them for the first time think about the location of everything (e.g. Kyles house and the school) in South Park. You could see how passion they were in helping to create something which already means a lot to them.

When i read it over and over you have clearly worded this wrong in the article if what your really trying to say is that Trey and Matt were entertaining since this is what you wrote:

"It’s no coincidence that the cameo from Matt Stone and Trey Parker (creators of South Park) on stage at Microsoft’s demo was a hit among fans. Aside from Shigeru Miyamoto’s Pikmin intro at Nintendo’s conference, these were the two standouts in overall robotic, dull and strange presentations. Would it kill to show some personality?"

Ok you credit them and say the were liked by a majority, but then go to say (as i said above) they were "robotic, dull and strange presentations". So where do you say they were the only entertaining presenters (including Miyamoto since you brought him up) under the UNINSPIRING PRESENTERS point?

jslash4302d ago (Edited 4302d ago )

"It’s no coincidence that the cameo from Matt Stone and Trey Parker (creators of South Park) on stage at Microsoft’s demo was a hit among fans. Along with Shigeru Miyamoto’s Pikmin intro at Nintendo’s conference, these were the two standouts in otherwise robotic, dull and strange presentations. Would it kill to show some personality?" - taken from the article.

THEY WERE THE TWO STANDOUTS IN *OTHERWISE* ROBOTIC, DULL AND STRANGE PRESENTATIONS! Where on earth did I say anything about them being uninspiring? God freaking dammit.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

darthv721d 7h ago

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.
