Square Enix: “No New Information” To Share On Final Fantasy Versus XIII

The latest issue of Game Informer has dedicated a full page timeline to the game, chronicling what little details Square Enix has shared about FFvsXIII from its first unveiling six years ago to E3 2012. The timeline concludes with a statement Square Enix shared with the publication last month.

"Square Enix will host a Final Fantasy art gallery in Shibuya ward, Tokyo later this summer in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary.

The company plans on showing Yoshitaka Amano artwork, development materials, various other objects, and will host stage events.

On August 31, Square Enix will open the gallery to those with early access. On September 1 and 2, the general public will be allowed entry."

I don't think anyone really cares anymore. This game has past the point of no return for me. SE really has let their fanbase down in the worse way.

If or when this game comes out I won't be buying it at full price. They lost that respect from me.

Too much demand for this game to just fade away as "vaporware". Besides, the people posting comments like "I haven't cared about this game in 3 years" obviously care, they're just being impatient. My money is on this game being a next gen title.

I still believe Squarenix is purposely holding off this game cause they know they screwed up this gen with their decisions on platform & development management. Releasing this game is admitting to that & i doubt their egos will let them.

FF always have fancy CGI cutscenes, and I wouldn't be surprised if Square is wasting too much of the development time in making very pretty CGI cutscenes.

Remember most of the FF vs XIII gameplay are still hyped except the little that released 2-3 years ago. Reality is we have no idea how the actual gameplay is like except assumed by gamers.

Ultimately, it's probably just some really hot lefted over demo scenes that gotten high praises back when they were shown, but never were intended to be a game.
So now that fans want a game from it, & they're having a hard time producing one.
I guarantee that we will get another completely new , unannounced FF game before "Versus" is released.

& just think about it;
"Nothing" new to show about a game that your supposedly working on?
Any other company would've scraped the project by now, bercsuse it's a waste of resources & production costs that could be used elsewhere.

I'm at the fifth stage of the grieving scale - acceptance. We shouldn't be so entitled anyways. They have no obligation to consumers to keep making games or to release this game quicker than it has been taking.

Oh well. It'll come out eventually, that's for sure because there's no way that it will get scrapped at this point.

It will be a great game. Could be the last great PS3 game before next gen revs up.

I'm still hopeful. Yes it's taken awhile but as long as the game is good, I won't be complaining. In fact, I hope the reason it is taking so long is because SE realizes this game will be the one that gets their fans trust back, or forever leaves a nasty stigma on the company and finalizes many peoples fears that SE no longer cares.
