Is it releasing for iPad? That is awesome. I would love to see bioware make a new one. Actually take the time and make a new authentic, non streamlined full fledged next Gen baulders gate. I can't get my hopes up because it will release when half life 3 & a good final fantasy do.

Actually, it's planned that Overhaul Games will make Baldur's Gate III if these Enhanced Editions sell well. With that said, is it really a bad thing? Look what happened to Dragon Age, which was supposed to be the thing that BioWare would use to say, "We still remember our older games!"

I agree. They played skyrim and then said they got some ideas on how to make dragon age 3 better. What? Don't do that. Play Balder gate and dragon age to know what's good. He'll, even dragons dogma could teach them things about good rpgs that they supposedly have forgot. Are they the best at pre scripted story ? Yes, and it's the saving grace of DA2 but they must remember that no matter how much choice u give, the best stories are made by the gamers themselves ie. DayZ and DD. Neither have great stories but the immersion works because of freedom. True rpgs will automatically give gamers slot of choice...just not pre scripted. We will make our own adventure. I played Me 1 and thought the future was bright. I figured they would combine conversation wheel with choice, great writing and deep RPG mechanics. I want to spend hours in my menu. But instead of making a better RPG for ME2, it was all gone. DA2 had a great story but it's as if I was just going through the motions. Now, DD, KoA, and a few great jrpgs prove that they are not dead but the juggernauts are all easy, beautiful action games. I appreciate skyrim but it's missing the core RPG elements that I love. And I know it's all done to make money but I think they are selling themselves short. I envisioned next Gen Rpgs as giving us more loot, more stats, more difficulty, more strategy, better menus to make spending hours in them easier. But, instead they just did away with all of it to make it easier.

Guess I won't be buying it then.

This just makes perfect sense. Trent's Beamdog is a digital distribution service. He already has the infrastructure, why cough up revenue to services like Steam or GOG when you have the service already and you can use a game like Baldur's Gate EE to promote that service first, and then release on Steam later if he chooses. I don't see any reason this should deter anyone. Buy it directly from Overhaul and Overhaul receives more money to keep doing what they're doing.

Unless you don't want to support the developers and would rather see them share their money with Valve instead...

just easier for digital games being in one program.

Too bad about Steam and GOG, but I'm happy they gave a legit reason for not having physical copies.

Best Android Games Offline

If you are anything like me, a lot of what you do for work, for fun, and for staying in touch with friends depends on the great and mighty World Wide Web. So, imagine what would happen if the gang of neighborhood cats chewed through the power cords, cutting off your electricity. Or the alien hackers from outer space sent a destructive virus that crumbles the infrastructure of the internet in a matter of seconds. Devastating disasters like this could come in more mundane forms as well. Maybe your parents turn off your service or you are going on a trip to a remote, Wi-Fi-less destination.
