Iwata bemoans internet trolls and The Sun’s 3DS hate campaign

Satoru Iwata has recently spoken out against those behind "negative campaigns" which have potentially caused lasting damage toward Nintendo's products.

Anyone remember that Simpsons moment where Lisa has the dream where she's performing a concert and everyone is booing her? And she wakes up and asks "Why would they come to our concert just to boo us?"

THAT is how silly all of these performers are when they constantly complain about "haters".....because how could they be getting exposed to "haters"? Reading some nutcase's review on Amazon that gives them a 0? playing around the forums? Or maybe crying over an 8/10?

Nintendo HAS been subjected to baseless criticism, and not just with their 1st party work; similar smear attacks were launched by disgruntled fans against Mh3g and DQ9 in Japan.

And do you seriously believe that these haters don't exist? Or have you forgotten the DEATH THREATS Sony fans sent to the ff developers, among others over going MP?

This level of unwarranted hate has never plagued Sony, so if you are a Sony fan especially you may not believe it. The exact opposite is true if you have been a Nintendo fan however.

A recent example: the bemoaning of "wii has no games" despite having tons of unique original games including Little King Story, a beautiful but ignored game and one of my favorites.

That same game has been chucked over to the vita, which is lacking in original software, and is being praised as a great unique Vita title of 2012 despite already being on my Nintendo for the last 3 years or so.

I'm saying that Iwata has no reason to be worried or connected to pointless tensions. He's part of the most popular system of the generation....no need to cry over spilled milk like internet smear "campaigns" (of which exist for just about everything anyway).

He wouldn't be "crying" over it if it was as significant as spilled milk. These things have a snowball effect and harm stock values, as well as panic or disturb shareholders which affects stocks more.

The Sun ran an incredibly ridiculous smear campaign that GREATLY damaged the public image of the 3ds. Nintendo has every reason to be upset over this, as they have been affected by it both in PR and financially.

It isn't spilled milk, it's more like a boiling milk explosion.

As for putting words into your mouth, stating that Nintendo aren't being exposed to them is little different than denying their affect and existence.

Nintendo executives are NOT being exposed to haters. That's the thing. At least, they shouldn't be.

And since actual persons with doctorates (Doctorates in medicine, not game worship) said that the 3DS would be bad for developing eyes, it's absolutely not the work of "haters" that the 3DS be discussed on the subject.

don't get me wrong, i think the sun is a worthless rag that i wouldn't use to wipe my arse, but why would they have some vendetta against the 3ds?
