They look very, human...
I wanted a black hole.

pixelsword4315d ago (Edited 4315d ago )

Look on the other end...

...There's two!

christian hour4314d ago

Didnt they already show us their faces if you romance tali'Zorrah? She gives you this photo of herself http://images4.wikia.nocook... :P

I always assumed they were humanoid, or somewhat rodent-ish. Definitely not newsworthy anyways.

Pozzle4315d ago

It's an improvement on the previous lazy face model. But they're still too human-looking imo. I guess I was expecting something more...well...alien.

TekoIie4315d ago (Edited 4315d ago )

I assume that you have completely forgotten about their hands and legs. Besides their biology is different and their Immune system was always relatively weak compared to the other races according to Tali.

Asari look human too but no one complains there because they're 99% of the time UBER HAWT. Them tentacle heads look pretty cool imo :3

WildArmed4315d ago

lmao.
Fool me once, but twice? This is horrible.
I already fell for the asari looking like humans, but even quarians?
NOOOO.
All the things I imagined under that mask /sighs

XD

christian hour4314d ago

Asari arent human looking though, they only look human to us because we're playing as a human. Asari take the form of whatever is most attractive to the person viewing them

BigPappaPump4314d ago

@ Christian Hour: You ruined asari for me. I need to stop drinking with my turian and salarian buddies =)

christian hour4314d ago

@BigPappaPump Don't stop drinkin with em, just stop discussing Asarian dancers before everyone's reality unravels and they realize they probably look like praying mantis, waiting for a hot batch of genes before decapitating you :P

Rupee4314d ago

@Christian lolwut? Are you saying they change shape depending on who's looking at them?

christian hour4313d ago

No its more like mind control, they appear as,to your eyes only, whatever is most appealing to your race, so a krogan would see them looking more like a krogan. I think their true form is unknown, they don't actually change shape though. They aint shape shifters. I dunno if it was ME1 or ME2 but its in the dossiers there somewhere, and a few random NPC's discuss it as well. Then again my ME lore is kinda rusty, I havent even played ME3 yet, but thats cos I lost my me1/me2 save and I was really attached to my character :(

Genetically it's completely plausible. Humans have the correct biological layout to construct tools, make use of them and have deeply profound systems of communication. It would make sense that species of similar bipedal builds and tool/communication focus to also advance to space travel.

This is why we aren't ruled by snakes and goldfish on earth.

lsujester4315d ago

Yeah, but would they also have the exact same face layout? Two eyes, nose, and mouth? Why not extra eyes to see around you better, or larger nostrils for smelling?

Frankly, I think Bioware just wanted their main alien girls to be "hot" because they know T&A is more interesting. Let the males be the ugly ones.

Pozzle4315d ago (Edited 4315d ago )

True, but it's awfully coincidental for them to have the exact same (albeit slightly blue-tinged) faces as us, right down to the shape of their mouths, noses and (presumably) eyes. Especially since human eyesight, hearing, smell, etc isn't particularly good compared to most animals.

And hell, there are plenty of non-humanoid aliens in the series anyway. Bioware didn't HAVE to make the Quarian faces look like people. There have been some pretty creative fan designs of Tali on the 'net. I'm just surprised that after all the complaints and disappointments over Tali's photo in ME3, Bioware still took the lazy "let's make them look like hot people" approach. It's funny how (like lsujester said) the female aliens are conveniently "hot" by human standards, while the males are quite animal-esque by comparison. Be a bit more creative, Bioware!

upallnightgamer4315d ago

@Isujester: Let males be the ugly ones? What about Garrus or Thane? MAYBE Garrus, because Turians look like little Godzillas anyway, but you certainly can't call Thane ugly. They are the alien beefcake like Liara and Tali are the cheesecake. And we still have plenty of aliens that are barely humanoid, i.e. Salarians, Yahg, Volus; and some not even human, i.e. Elcor and Hanar.

The Meerkat4315d ago

We know that the Quarians and Turians have different biology from Human, Asari ect.
They need to eat food containing right-handed proteins. While humans need left.
So I expected the Quarians to look very alien.

(but at least I feel a bit better about getting it on with Tali)

OC_MurphysLaw4315d ago

the reveal was less than spectacular but atleast we got it.

ginsunuva4315d ago

They all look human. It's for MoCap. Well except the jellyfish, but theydon't move. Lazy Bioware again.
