Zelda Informer writes: "[P]eople underestimate just how awesome a new and true spiritual successor to the original Legend of Zelda would be. You want a unique take on the series that at the same time retains the core identity? Well, we haven’t had a Zelda game that’s really inherited this kind of design framework in a very, very long time."
Screen Rant, "The return of one controversial character could have an incredible effect on The Legend of Zelda, prompting the introduction of new features."
Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her
Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.
Matt from We Game Daily writes "The Legend of Zelda series has gone in a different direction. One which, try as I have, I just can’t get on board with. Here is why I think Zelda should return to its 3D roots."
Amen! A good, tight, Zelda game with a focus on dungeons and puzzles. Let people have the new style Zelda if you gotta, but let us have the OoT style games too. That's not without precedent either, the handheld 2D Zelda's in the style of A Link to the Past etc have coexisted alongside the 3D Zelda's before
Wind Waker had a perfect balance of open world and a cool, well hand-crafted design. Maybe try to keep the open world but put in effort to make more memorable story driven quests and locations.
A fan of The Legend of Zelda has recreated the iconic Japanese monster Godzilla in Tears of the Kingdom using the game's Zonai devices.
I like it would also be cool if some created Dragon Caesar in the game I would love to watch the two going at it.
This makes no sense at all.
Link to the past is basically the "perfected" "LoZ". Going Back means downgrading. And they will eventually work their way up back to Link to the past.
Sorry,
LoZ:SS already captured how I felt about the very first Zelda Game.
SS is my game. I hope they keep much of it's play style.
But, even though it's not your point, I would love to see an old school Zelda game based off the 8 bit original. Make it a download.
It's a fair point to make.
A Link to the Past's formula has become sort of a blueprint for the series: 3 dungeons then Master Sword, dual world theme etc.. That being said, it would be extremely hard not to look at A Link to the Past for inspiration. It is truly epic, and much better than the original (imo).
The Wind Waker reminds me the most of the original Legend of Zelda. The sea is huge, and takes quite a bit of dedication to fully explore. The hero also collects pieces of the Triforce, just like in the original.
They should look to Link's Awakening. Plenty of dungeons, but a nice quest to do before each. Simple story with fantastic characters. Lots of exploration but still focused. Satisfying gameplay yet easy to pick up and go. Good development but at a quick pace.
Basically the perfect balance of everything.
He says that the older games were far more simple? I don't think we want "simple" in the new games. We want "awesome".
