Black Ops 2 Wii U is Happening.

"What did Nintendo have to say/show about Black Ops 2 on the Wii, Wii U, or even the 3DS during their 2012 E3 press conference, and during E3 in general? Nothing.
Does this mean that Call of Duty: Black Ops II won't be releasing for the Wii U? No, and I believe there is more than enough evidence that shows Black Ops 2 will release on the Wii U in the launch window, and it will also offer some great use of the Wii U's GamePad for controls.
So, with the current official release date for Black Ops 2 being 11-13-12, November 13th, what is this "evidence" for Black Ops 2 releasing on the Wii U, probably as a launch title, later this year? Brew yourself some coffee, and let's take a look!", writes CoffeeWithGames.

I get COD got a big fanbase but who going to want to buy a COD game at full price on a different console possibly 2-4months+ later?

-Mika-4323d ago (Edited 4323d ago )

Call Of Duty prices don't drop quickly so in 2-4 months. It might still be $60 but i agree with you on the other points. Why would I buy this on the wii U

The wii u standard or pro controller doesn't look like alot of fun to be playing cod on and the community for the game will be larger on the ps3 and 360. Plus the wii u is wifi only so i definitely don't want to be playing online games on this system.

Nintendo has to do alot more to win over core consumers. Their online network may be too controlling compared to psn or xbl. So again there alot of reasons core consumers or casual consumers will buy this for the wii U.

Ravenor4323d ago

The CoDs on the Wii actually had quite a few people playing. Using the Wiimote always made me want to throw the whole thing out the window, but it was a perfectly functional CoD with online play, on the Wii.

-Mika-4323d ago

@ Ravenor

We're not talking about the wii. We're talking about the wii U and the reason i listed above are valid complaints on why someone would pick up cod on the ps3 or 360.

Hisiru4323d ago (Edited 4323d ago )

I wonder what they can do with the controller. This will be interesting as much as I prefer Battlefield. Also, I want to know more about the online capabilities of this console.

@-Mika-
Are you and Lucretia the same person? Always trolling Nintendo articles and saying it probably won't be fun to play. If you don't want to play games on this system why are you here in this article? Why do you try so hard to downplay Nintendo systems? I think you should waste your precious time with something else.

Youre making a lot of assumptions. Do you have a crystal ball? Let's wait for the launch and see what the console brings to the table. :)

Also, if you don't want to play COD on the tablet controller, you can simply play it on the pro controller, which makes your hasty assumption "it won't be fun to play on the tablet controller" veeeeeery useless.

We don't even know if the WiiU will be successful or not, how can we say it won't have a big community? lol

I am sorry, but youre not just trolling, youre being ignorant as always (that's exactly what you do in all your trolling comments).

PopRocks3594323d ago (Edited 4323d ago )

I reckon any family with kids who like to play CoD. Besides, the more new 3rd party support it gets, the better.

And core Nintendo fans too. Like myself lol.

TheDivine4322d ago

It will be good for the kids hooked on COD who use the livingroom tv. They can game out and when the mom needs to watch dancing with the stars or whatever bs the kid can resume on the tablet controller. This would be the version to buy if you have kids. I see this being a key selling point to families.

Besides half the COD sales come in well after launch. I still havent gotten MW3 but will for the co-op and campaign when its on sale. COD MP lives on for YEARS.

jjdoyle4323d ago

this be saying release window so november. kinda skimmmed it.

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4323d ago

People keep forgetting that games like this need a little more development time-

Yes, WiiU may be easy to port to but thinking of ways to use the WiiU Gamepad may take sometime.

Especially, if you want to do something cool/neat/original.

3GenGames4323d ago (Edited 4323d ago )

The UI part of it is made to be adjustable by the controller from each console so each console port from one to the other takes the least amount of time possible, WiiU won't change that much. Maybe a little UI on the screen, OR maybe just a static image up there and say screw it, which is more likely. The controller is the same ammount/arrangement of buttons so hello copy+paste from either 360 or PS3's control scheme.

And I highly doubt Activision will do something cool/neat/original, they're Activision for Christ sake.

trickman8884323d ago (Edited 4323d ago )

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 will suck ass.

Honest_gamer4323d ago

what i want to know is anyone happy that a new cod is happening?

on a serious note i PRAY the snipping on it is similar to the zombieU game where the controler is the scope

Xbox $70 billion bet paid out

fr0sty248d ago

Guess that's what happens when there's no good new games to play...

4Sh0w248d ago (Edited 248d ago )

Well regardless of exclusives, or whatever else there is to play on Xbox or ps, CoD has has still been the top selling game on ps platform since forever also.....so no surprise that the most popular game franchise on any console could easily have a revival due to servers coming back online...this is just credit to xbox backwards compatibility & thats good thing for Xbox gamers.

wiz7191248d ago

@Frosty orrrr maybe it’s a breath of fresh air to be able to go back to the peak of the series .. and it’s beem great lol

mkis007248d ago

It's going to take 10 years for xbox to generate that much profit...

Rhythmattic248d ago

Why worry when they have OS, Server and Background Data in their hands...
Gaming is just the small piece, at the top left in a few K piece jigsaw.

EasilyTheBest248d ago

If you buy a house with cash for 1 million dollars you still own the house. Microsoft don't need to make the money back.

Rhythmattic246d ago

But its not money back, its about how it goes missing.

jznrpg248d ago

Shooters is what Xbox people play most of the time and that’s about it by the numbers and sales of games.

shinoff2183249d ago

Atkeast older gamers nostalgia is good. Jeez.

Jin_Sakai249d ago

Mostly because the new CoD games are garbage. The old games were much better.

Rutaprkl248d ago

Agree 100%. Cod 4, WaW, Black ops 1 & 2, those were the days.

Rhythmattic248d ago

For MP, Unreal tournament , QIII Arena (loved the UT mod) FTW!

RaidenBlack248d ago

Unreal Tournament and Quake III were simply amazing ... CoD's and CoD-likes' rise killed the arena shooter popularity ...
Unreal Tournament 2004 is my favorite in the series.
Didn't enjoy Unreal Tournament III, Quake Champions that much.
Too bad Epic cancelled Unreal Tournament 2014 becoz of Fortnite

Rhythmattic247d ago (Edited 247d ago )

I got hooked on the QIII Urban Terror mod (and my work colleagues I introduced them to)... LAN Sessions at the closing of the doors at work, into the night , sinking beers and eating pizza..... Good times.

thesoftware730249d ago

Wow, good games never get old I guess.

CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.

CrimsonWing69249d ago

Shows you that backwards compatibility is a worthwhile feature.

1Victor248d ago

@crimson:” Shows you that backwards compatibility is a worthwhile feature.”
I agree it’s worthy at the start of the generation when there’s few new generation games but halfway through the generation it’s not a feature.
Now it’s good that this game is finding a renewed life for its fan but it shows a mayor flaw in new games release when a close decade old game is toppling the charts

CrimsonWing69248d ago

I don't know if I understand what you mean. It's a feature regardless of the time into the generation.

Let's take Armored Core 6 for example. Let's say I'm interested in checking out the previous Armored Core games, sure would be nice if I could play them on my current-gen console.

We're about 3 years into current-gen and old games are hitting in the top 5 for sales charts in the month.

I do get where you're coming from with older games possibly being better than the newer games, but the feature stays the feature. I can only speak for myself, but when there's a lull in game releases or nothing great is out, I like to go back to old titles. It's just nice to not have to have a bunch of consoles out to do so.

I think moving forward it'll be less and less of an issue as like with the PS5 you can access most all of the PS4 games, but I like going back to PS1 and PS2. Would be awesome to kind of make backwards compatibility a prioritized feature moving forward. Hell, Sony was the first to implement it.
