PES hits back: Konami accuses FIFA of copying

"Jon Murphy has had enough. I can see it in his face as we sit down for our interview in Konami UK's Chiswick offices. And I can feel it in every answer he delivers to all the questions I put to him.
Perhaps it's not surprising. The Konami veteran has spent years as Pro Evolution Soccer European team leader banging the PES drum, but the last few have, by his own admission, been the most galling. As EA's FIFA series has pulled away from PES - the game so many of us played religiously "back in the day" before turning to the dark side at the beginning of this generation - he's had to accept second place. A distant second place. And doesn't everyone know it.", writes EuroGamer.

I've always loved the quality of PES despite the lack of there of, but it's definitely understandable. I have a couple big soccer fanatic friends (I'm one of them) who prefer PES over FIFA any day.

PES missed their go at being king, they became to complacent in the PS2 days when PES was the better game and more popular, but then EA picked up their game and left PES trailing, way, way, way back in the dust.

I still say pes plays a better game of the sport. It seems that the teams in FIFA don't have different styles of play and pes goals are just more realistic. Fifa has them beat in graphics, animation, and commentary. I hope next gen we can at least get some realistic looking grass on the fields for once.

Not my favorite of the series, but still a damn good game. At that price, and if you have any interest, you really should jump on the deal.

Amazing game, and the best cut scenes in gaming today. The multiplayer is fun too, if you were hesitant in the past to play online, this one balances things nicely in my opinion.
