Complex Review: Is "Ghost Recon: Future Soldier" the Future of Shooters?

Complex: "Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has clearly been created by developers who understand the innovations that have occurred since the last Ghost Recon game came out. The really essential question, then, is do those innovations add to Future Soldier, or has Ghost Recon lost too much of what it was before?"

What the article should of mentioned was that Halo not Call of Duty changed the first person shooter genre. COD has blindsided many journalists to feel like COD has been our FPS savior...how wrong they are.

How has Halo changed the FPS genre exactly?

ThatEnglishDude4347d ago

It hasn't. It simply perfected the CONSOLE FPS in terms of control, grand storytelling and presentation. It's a great game and good series that's often disregarded as being one 'for the kids' due to their over population online.

@thatenglishdude

Exactly, Halo only refined the FPS genre. Call of Duty 4 was the leap in the genre, it introduced killstreaks and even if it wasnt the first game to have unlocks it perfected the "carrot on a stick" reward system. Halo is just an evolved Unreal Tournament. Both are good games too.

Halo changed shooters in 2001. COD4 changed them again in 2007. It's really that simple.

IS Halo the first fps game made EU?

Or is Cod4?

If Ghost Recon is the "future" of shooters, then we are in for a shitty ride :(

Every industry has these issues

Some companies I’ve worked for were great and some were toxic as hell (UPS when I was a teenager was extremely toxic and I have heard it still is) It all starts at the top. They either hold people accountable , set standards and treat people with respect or the crap rolls downhill.
