I LOVED Fallout 3, cant wait for Fallout 4 next gen, just thinkin about it is giving me goosebumps

moegooner884358d ago

Do you recommend getting it on PS3, n normal or GOTY edition, i loved FONV normal edition was fine with occasional freezes, then got the GOTY edition which kept freezing every 20 mins or so

vil3114358d ago

PC because mods and easy bug fixing.

Laxman4358d ago

I would say there might be an issue with your actual machine, as the coding with FONV would be exactly the same in both Normal and GOTY editions. But a lot of people do report these kids of bugs with the game, so you're likely just getting unlucky (I never had a single issue or glitch while playing).

I would recomment getting the GOTY edition of Fallout 3. The expansions are great, and there were a load of good patches that fixed most of the issues people found. If you enjoyed NV, Fallout 3 wont disappoint :)

@vil

Do you REALLY think he has a gaming PC if he's even asking about the ps3 version?

Use some sense, man.

I'd rather wait. Next gen consoles aren't that far off and the benefits should be worth it.

I would like Obsidian to be in charge in Fallout 4. New Vegas was infinitely better than Fallout 3...

A-Glorious-Dawn4358d ago

oooooh I would disagree with that..

I found that Fallout 3 was much more memorable, I guess because it was the first of its kind..

But NV wasn't bad, I just found that I lost interest after soo many quests were given to me in such a short space of time..

But that may be whats more appealing to you..

I liked some of the things they changed in new vegas but I still prefer fallout 3

mistajeff4358d ago

I agree. Bethesda's handling of the lore was atrocious, and there were way too many linear quests for a proper entry in the Fallout series. Obsidian did a great job crafting a narrative that was almost as open as the world itself. The writing was significantly better, and the world was in-line with what you'd expect to find 200 years after the war. Fallout 3's world would've made sense if it took place before Fallout 1, but with such an extremely sparse population that hasn't figured out how to plant crops after 200 years, things don't quite add up when you compare it to the first two games.

I rather liked Vegas, but I think it's a tossup between Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I really can't decide which I liked better. Fallout 3 felt more expansive - I think mainly because so much of New Vegas happened in New Vegas. Frankly, I found the whole New Vegas aspect of New Vegas rather boring. That's what I liked more about Fallout 3. More exploring. Still, both were excellent.

Didn't some people complain that FO3 wasn't a true FO game because it was too different from the originals? Also, I see the comparisons they're drawing, but I don't think The Last of Us is going to turn out anything like Fallout.

Sidewinder-4358d ago (Edited 4358d ago )

Fallout 1 and 2 had more interesting stories, wheras F3 just came across as derivative.

The originals were more 'black comedy', and while F3 had little shades of this, it came across more 'serious'.

But I can't fault F3's presentation. When it came out, it was both imersive and impressive.

But the originals will always have their place as some of the best PC rpg's of all time.

mistajeff4358d ago

Fallout 3's quests were extremely linear by comparison to the first two games

fr00ty-wizenhymer4358d ago

Metro 2033 is a good game, not too similar too Fallout though. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is awesome. Borderlands is great with friends. Rage... meh. Bioshock I wouldn't really compare to Fallout.

Fallout 3 & NV were decent, but if you want to play great games then play Fallout 1 & 2.

TheGameFoxJTV4357d ago

The type of setting is similar. The whole 40s-50s feeling of the characters, and the area.

If we do get a Fallout 4 this gen I hope it runs on the ID Tech 5 engine. Fallout needs a facelift in the graphics dept. for sure. Still great games though.

Fallout Anthology Edition Looks Pretty S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

The Fallout Anthology Edition is coming to PC very soon, and is packaged with some very S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bonuses.

It’s an awful downgrade to the last one they did

They included physical disc back then

Infamous Video Game Endings That Left a Bad Taste

The most disappointing and infamous video game endings even sour the overall thoughts of a game. Most of these titles represent some of the finest entries in their respective series, marred by an ending we can't quite forgive.

Far Cry 5....bullshit. This game had a great ending imo.

MrNinosan13d ago

There is no game called Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2, but Rebirth had a great ending imo. Felt robbed by the ending at first, but the more I've seen it and during my 3rd playthrough, I started to understand and realize a lot more that make me appreciate the ending.

Nerdmaster13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

I was enjoying FFVII Remake, even though those whispers throughout the game were annoying. But the ending was so bad that I don't even want to play Rebirth. On top of that, from what I saw on reviews, the ending of Rebirth is even worse.

Also, I'm glad to see Zero Time Dilemma being recognized as the trainwreck it is. After the amazing two first games (especially the near perfect second one), the low quality of the trilogy end is baffling. The new characters are bad, the old characters don't feel like themselves, a surprise "alien technology" pops out of nowhere, the big twist was like "eh?", and it doesn't really finish the story nor explains the loose threads from the second game.
