Why Fez Makes Me Want To Buy An Xbox

If there’s something you should know about me, then it’s my PlayStation loyalty. That’s why FEZ is such a big deal; it’s the first game to make me seriously consider buying an Xbox.

... then Trials Evolution, Super Meat Boy, ilomilo, Shadow Complex, and a bunch of other XBLA classics should be enough to convince anyone!

As good as some smaller titles are, are such 'small' games worth a console cost?..

Don't get me wrong if you can afford to own two consoles and want to, why not?..

I just wouldn't ever declare small/half price download titles as console sellers, personally.

... but to me, those smaller games have been pretty much the best thing about this generation, and there are very few full-priced retail games that offer the same amount of lifespan and pure fun challenging gameplay as Super Meat Boy and Trials Evolution!

Is it weird that I'm more interested in the XBLA games than most full retail titles that hit Xbox 360? Lots of fun and originality to be found from that place.

... I feel the exact same way. My favourite games that came out this year have been Journey (PSN) and Trials Evo (which has endless fun due to an active community creating brilliant new levels already).

Fez is supposed to be great, but I haven't picked it up yet (due to Trials), and The Walking Dead is getting great reviews as well.

It's weird, with an industry that's getting greedier and greedier with DLC-milking and online passes and such, it seems the most fun for me comes from those smaller cheaper games by developers who DO still love their job as a game-creator, and are respectful and loyal and dedicated to their customers by offering value for money.

It really is the best of times (PSN/XBLA) AND the worst of times (Activision, EA, Capcom, DLC-milking, etc)

The game is definitely unique and that music is quite awesome--complements the premise and gameplay perfectly.

It's pretty good, but not as spectacular as most critics make it out to be. Definitely not something that would make me buy an xbox (if I didn't already have one). Concept is quite novel, but the game is somewhat buggy too.

Very creative, but very challenging, too. Great game!

Review - Fez (Switch) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Leo Faria: "In short, Fez is as good now as it has always been. The reason I call this version the best way to experience this indie game is mostly due to the perfect combination of the Switch’s portability and its screen being much larger than the Vita’s. This is easily one of the best indies ever made, and one of the most important games of the past decade. Even though a lot of younger players only know it due to its troubled development cycle and some post-launch controversies, Switch owners should definitely pick this game up. This gem took an eternity to arrive on the system, but it feels right at home on it."
