Max Payne 3 Xbox360 install size revealed

Rockstar's upcoming third person shooter and the third installment in the Max Payne series 'Max Payne 3' will be available on Xbox360 on two discs. The first disc contains the first half of the story mode and the multiplayer while the second disc contains the second portion of the story mode.

I don't think anyone is making fun of anyone, but this kinda makes sense, doesn't it? The fact that every game can be (optionally) installed to the hard drive or even to a USB disk pretty much shows why Bluray or any other format is not really necessary even for games bigger than what one DVD can hold. I reckon that next gen alsmot every game will be available digitally or even via cloud storage.

I don't remember any. RAGE required 25 gigs while it was 16 gigs for GTA V. This will probably be the game that takes the most hdd space up to date with a basic install, meaning, without mods and DLC.

Then you have MMO's like GuildWars and some wonky games like AgeOfConan which break the 30gb mark.

GTA4 is actually around 32gb if you count the game+expansion.

Anyways, it isn't as big a deal because most PCs have a relatively big HardDrive compared to their stock console counterparts.
35gb is still hefty though.

and 2....ROCKSTAR are more "CONSOLE FIRST" developers, and usually port said games to PC....and this game seems like that's what they are doing.

Well you can always play it right from the disc but I personally love the option to install all my games to my hd and I erase them when I'm finished. Works great for me and I have the 250 gig hd.

I wish they allowed you to use one disk to play the game once the game is installed. They should make only one disc the authenitcating disc and make peoples lives easier.

Once both discs are installed companies shouldn't require you to switch them.

I own both systems. I have more friends on xbox getting this title. Not to mention party cross game chat and party chat in general. Imo, the chat system is vastly better on xbox. I love both systems. Each bring something to the table, but for chat, xbox all the way. Not to mention I can stream my own music in the background of any game. Nothing like listening to some good music in the background of some multiplayer. Add that with friends, party chat, and I'm going xbox on this one.

I agree that some tps are better with the controller on PC but others are not eg: I loved binary domain with my controller, but much preferred batman AC with KB+M. Now take into account that rockstar said they want this game to be third person but with a first person shooter feel.

Don't see the point of this, you don't need to install the game to play it, its just an optional install. The game comes on two discs so you can install two discs if you want. No big deal really.

Skyrim reuses many assets throughout the game, where as every level in Max Payne will have 90% of new items textures etc...
