Call of Duty: Black Ops II May Bring Me Back To Shooters

Default Prime writer Kyree Leary has been out of the First Person Shooter genre for a while; his last big shooter that he had fun with being Modern Warfare 2. But in light of the information surrounding Treyarch's Black Ops II, he might have to come back from his hiatus.

I like that they changed the setting, cause modern day was getting kinda boring. Futuristic setting will definitely attract gamers, im mostly excited using the new guns in zombie mode

I think their is too many modern day shooters so maybe a futuristic setting will be good.

Try halo, I think thats set in the future, and i think it might be out at around the same time as blops 2.

Halo takes place in the 2500's, BO2 takes place in 2025...

2025 is hardly a future setting. The cities all look modern the only "future" ie seen is SOME tech and so far it's mechs, quad rotor and 1 handgun. So far I have seen m16s and xm8s (which is a cancelled gun so it shouldn't even appear)

"2025 is hardly a future setting"

Your so right I remember 2025 as if it were yesterday./s

Futuristic Shooter!

Battlefield 2142 from back in the day!
Blacklight Retribution right now!

plus many more!

I just hope the media doesn't poison young gamers minds into thinking Call Of Duty Black Ops II does the futuristic military shooter first!

This is gonna be the CoD to get Mark these words. The campaign setting and storyline is realistic and looks good. Multiplayer even though there has been no word of it I trust it won't disappoint and then zombies need I say more about zombies. All of that for 60 bucks is a great deal and one of the best bang for your buck offerings in the fps genre. Between this, Halo 4, Ghost Recon, and MoH it is a great time to be someone who loves shooters.

It will only bring you back to shooters if you liked the last CoD. It's just going to be the same thing yet again and it will be overrated as usual. If games like Killzone & Battlefield can't get you back into shooters then you likely weren't interested in them in the first place.

oh STFU, you havent even seen actual gameplay and your already making pointless articles

MrChrisNo14366d ago

So we shouldn't talk about game announcements? Makes perfect sense...

Besides, I'd rather read 'pointless' articles than badly spelt comments.

cod post MW4 bringing you back to shooters? if Battlefield, Killzone, Resistance, even Halo 3 didnt do it for you.. then you think this will?

storyline is gonna be ticktacked as usual, outdated engine & graphics, and the same game wrapped with different maps, weapons and OP killstreaks.

I guess thats enough for people to be yearly buyers. Kudos for them, I just don't see what it is.

Look, to be honest the FTC should just stop.

MS has A/B and nothing has really changed yet...if you are worried about 5-10 years from now...just drop it cause the future is unpredictable.

Take this week's news, that 4 Xbox exclusive are going Multiplatform.
