Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse listed for PS3 and 360 with release date

An online retailer has revealed (with price, release date and temporary box art) that Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse will be coming to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

OMG...if they can make this an open world and in the style on Simpsons hit and run then this will be amazing.

Although with the title "Back to Multiverse" it seems like it will feature linear gaemplay going through differen't worlds. Plus it sounds like you could only play as Stewie and Brian

Yeah, that's exactly the same plot as the Phineas and Ferb PS3 game, but at least that plays like Ratchet and Clank.

I think following the formula for the Simpsons Game from 2007 would be perfect. Big town you can explore freely, almost every character from the show in the game somewhere, inside jokes dating back through the whole series, choosing what missions to do and when, 4 playable characters that all feel different. The core mechanics of the gameplay were a little dull, but the devs nailed every other aspect of that game.

If the Family Guy devs aren't ready for a big undertaking, then the game will probably suck.

Not overrated.Completely devolved and bordering on psychotic more like it. When it first came out it actually had the makings of an interesting show but they went the over the top, lowlife, mindless way the way many shows go when they run out of ideas. I am not sure what is with the 'I can top the last disgusting lowlife thing I did' route, the same thing South Park does.Like the episode where Peter drank gasoline and destroyed his kidneys or when he beat up the little kid. Was that supposed to be funny?

@ coolbeans. thank you for summarizing exactly what i just said. When you have to do things like this just to get a laugh out of people just shows how juvenile you are. A good example is MAD on Cartoon Network and Robot Chicken. MAD makes me laugh without having to resort to cursing, killing and raping people, beating up children and being completely lewd.

The Simpsons is far worse and it's still on air

South Park is running out of ideas, you only get a really funny epsisode once every so often and it's only because Cartman is in it

Still great to watch though, the Game of Thrones part in the recent SP episode had me cracking up for like 5 mins.

As for Family Guy, going crazy is what saved the show. They did that after it had first gotten canned and that pulled in bigger ratings and did make the show even funnier imo

From what I recall of the multiverse episode (one of the few new ones I've seen in a long time):

- One universe had no Christians in it with science 1000 years ahead compared to us.

- One universe was dedicated just to make one joke about Walt Disney's supposed anti-semitism

...It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know Family Guy's low-brow, no-wit humor will display just shallow it has become and how offensive it needs to be in order to generate a laugh.

Edit: God knows how bad it'll be with videogame writers (probably) at the helm.

Let's just hope bad video game writers are writing this, instead of the actual Family Guy writers.

The show started out well. The comedic timing was brilliant and the characters were interesting. Now...it's just a mockery of humor. -_-

At least Simpsons hasn't resorted to killing children, making us watching Peter almost kill himself with idiocy, listen to their self righteous attitudes, pointless unfunny cutaways and mocking every religion and race on the planet on an attempt to try to prove that they are still somehow funny or edgy. And South Park was never good. It was always the lowest show on the totem pole. It never had any merit or worth at all.

I fully agreed until you got to south park. I think that show is far funnier than most of its competition, but family guy is especially bad. I lose brain cells every time I watch it. Sometimes they milk scenes just to kill time, or copy movie scenes exactly for no reason, not even adding anything to it, just copying it to kill time.

And of course, when they aren't pulling that crap, they're just plain insulting and nonsensical. It has its moments, and it was far better when it first started, but know its just a sad excuse for a comedy imo.

I prefer American Dad. Honestly though, i'd rather watch Archer.

I'm English and I think it's fantastic. It has much sharper, and more subtle writing than Family Guy.
