NowGamer - We chat to Battlefield 3’s executive producer Patrick Bach about the new DLC pack for DICE’s popular FPS.

All I have ever got from nerfing, is if a gun is popular, it gets weakened by a patch. The cycle continues, as a majority of people move on to a new gun. It's use goes up, and a nerf is applied. What happened with this patch according to some people, is the patch hit guns that did not need any nerfing. And as far as the close quarter is concerned, I could care less. Map Variety is always a good thing especially with so many map options.

Many guns got buffed last patch, such as the G3A3, the SCAR-H, and even the F2000 to a lesser degree. Also, many attachments got major improvements, such as the Heavy Barrel, and the Flash Suppressor. Many weapons benefit a lot from the newly improved attachments.

The Famas was noticeably OP in relation to other other assault rifles (with the exception of the F2000), and thus it got nerfed. I use the Famas a lot, and even I agree that it was OP. It's still a very usable weapon, and effective in the right hands.

Yeah, but both the G3 and SCAR were nerfed too much in a patch beforehand. So they just brought them back to acceptable levels because otherwise they would have been useless.
