PlayStation phrase of the year: "Cross Purchase"

"The Drop" over on the PS Blog featured a game that was available on both PS3 and the new PS Vita, officially dubbing the buy-one-get-one nature of title as a "Cross Purchase".

Rey Guttierez labeled the game as such, allowing all developers and publishers of future games with this marketing strategy to fall back on one term to better clarify the deal to consumers. It may take a while before everyone uses the term, but its safe to say that as long as the talented team at the PlayStation Blog continue to use it in this context, then all must use it.

Currently, it can be confusing reading about such a thing coming from three different developers. They use a ton of words to convey the same message: buy it on one, get the other for free. This applies to over a handful of released or upcoming PSN titles, as well as various DLC add-ons for games like Hustle Kings and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.

I like the sound of 'transfarring' better of the new phrases.
It sounds allmost alien, as it rolls of the tongue. :P

However 'cross play' and 'cross purchase' is cool aswell, and probably more informative.

Cross purchase should be done with every single game no matter the platform.

Ya dude...I was just thinking the same. If you buy a ps3 game, it should be able to play on vita. Just like it was mostly done on psp games.

If it means I get the game on both systems for the price of one, I'm willing to call it whatever they want! :)

Capcom seriously dropped the ball with MvC Infinite. You can tell that it was heavily influenced by outside marketing that wanted to promote the characters in the MCU films only. The roster was lacking, the gameplay was slower than the previous game and there just wasn't a lot of the wackiness we come to expect.

Best Superhero Video Games Available Right Now

From Xfire: "A lot of video games are designed to make players feel like a superhero. However, very few actually feature superheroes or have players take on the role of a superhero. What makes this even worse is that there are even fewer superhero video games that can be considered good."
