I was going to sit down and review Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, but instead I’m going to complain about a distressing current trend in games: lack of couch co-op.
Frankly, if I wasn’t such a Resident Evil fanboy (or needing a copy to write a review), I would have left the game on the shelf there and then. Operation Raccoon City is nothing BUT a multiplayer game, and I’m sure there are many couples who want to pop that disc in their console and take on zombies together. Alas, it’s not going to happen; you have no other choice than to defend Umbrella’s seedy side with remote friends or strangers.
Rockstar Games’ shiny new Red Dead Redemption port is now on GTA+, and you can play it while claiming some tasty GTA Online benefits.
Rockstar still strying to make GTA plus work
Should be $6 for the rdr game on sale not 6 bucks for a months playtime
One of my favorite games from PS3 generation. I have the remaster as there was a buy 2 get 1 free deal a while back but the price they are charging for the port is way too high although not surprising at all.
Improvements have been made to the stability of the game
I still think this release was a big waste of time. I would have been a day 1 purchaser if they had redone the game w RDR2 graphics. I still own my PS3 copy, so don't see the point in picking this up if it's minimally improved.
They should have released the game in its current state not the state it launched in. Obvious we all wanted this to be a expansion to rdr 2 given that the original map was already remade in the game lots of people though this was just going to be added in later as paid DLC.
Now the game runs at 4k 60 fps on ps5 and can be brought on sale it's actually worth playing.
At launch the game was priced far to high and was a ps360 era game that couldn't run at 60 fps.
I'm in no way a frame rate snob I defended games like tears of the kingdom in the past for being 30 fps experiences but rdr was a joke at launch
Resident Evil 5 launched 15 years ago today - and it continues to stand as a stepping stone from the good to the bad.
One of my favourites because of the co-op. Then Resi 6 arrived and the series nosedived further.
I enjoyed the game co-oping with a friend I know the game in solo the AI can be an idiot but RE5 is way better then RE6. I played RE6 with a friend if it wasn't cheap when I got I would have avoided RE6.
5 was excellent, still play Mercs with my brother.
I would love a fully remastered RE:5, with some added, reworked content. The DLC for 5 was also excellent.
6 was awful.
I never understood why the game was misunderstood. It was a fantastic game at launch and is still fun today to play. It’s as action packed as Resident Evil 4 was, yet that’s regarded a masterpiece 🤷♂️
it was "misunderstood" because they introduced co-op into the franchise at a time when people loved to have fake rage about co-op. like, you could play the game as a solo experience, but people chose to have their bandwagon rage because it was cool at the time lol
Local MP is still way funner than online, even with headsets it just not the same, I don't play as well, laugh as much nor enjoy the game as much. There's simply something awesome about playing together in on one room that online doesn't seem to convey.
I miss Local Co-Op... Some of us don't feel like purchasing X amount of the same title to play together and its not very fair to make us.
We knew thee well.
Well borderlands 2 is commin so that should keep you and a buddy busy for along time. Plus its easily one of the best coop games around.
Hoe is couch co-op being missed when there are more games this gen with couch co-op probably compared even to the previous 2 gens combined!?
