The Clock is Ticking: 5 Games That Need a Release Date ASAP

GR's DeShaun Zollicoffer writes:

This console generation is quickly approaching its expiration date. Every post 2013 PS3 & Xbox 360 game will have to compete with next generation ones. This almost guarantees that they’ll be lost in the noise — most gamers will be too busy with their shiny new consoles. Here are five games that need a release date as soon as possible (i.e., one that falls before the winter of 2013, a.k.a. the current-gen apocalypse).

I really want Beyond Good & Evil 2, the first game was so unique and a really fun game

Each one of those game will fail bad.
Too much buzz to stand up to the insanely high expectations.
Look at GT5.
Insane game but people after 4 years expected perfection.

i'm still holding off buying a ps3 for the last guardian. as soon as the game has a release date = ps3 bought.

Hicken4380d ago

That's the ONLY thing that would convince you to get a PS3? Not saying it won't be great- because I think it will be- but it's not the sort of title people would normally consider to be a "system-seller." And there are plenty of those on PS3 already.

aviator1894380d ago

well, this, uncharted, and the jak and daxter series. but i'm mainly holding out for a new jak and daxter and the last guardian. :)

I just wonder if Agent may turn into a ps4 launch title.

I really don't get what's so good about half life. Played it on the orange box and didnt see anything special. Can somone tell me what makes it so good compared to other shooters?

pandaboy4380d ago

Try playing it on pc, it improves the game a lot. It just doesn't control right on consoles. Also, the physics are better than modern day console shooters and they've had 8 years to catch up. The way the story comes across helps you care about the characters around you and the environments have infinitely more freedom than your modern day-hold your hand down a corridor- shooter.

zeddy4380d ago

if you havent played the 1st one then it really doesnt make much sense, its a classic. half life 2 just carries it on. the main differnce is you're usually on your own, which gives a greater sense of isolation. apart from that its just a great game in general.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled2d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

I wished agent was revived so badly

Rockstar's game outpost has steadily declined since HD console gaming started . Hell, they were releasing new games every year since the PS2 launched, up to the start of the 7th gen.

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.
