In an interview with Gamer.nl, Shigeru Miyamoto responded to the popularity of crowdfunding, stating that he would be scared to carry the responsibility of having already accepted people's money, before an actual game is released. 'I would be scared to have that kind of responsibility', he said before calling the developers who did turn to this kind of development 'very brave'.
Miyamoto also talked about post-release development of games, saying he would consider this method for Nintendo-games, but only if there is a suitable environment for it. 'For the consumer market we have to be sure that every console is able to update. If such an enviroment is there, (updating) is something that we will consider.'
In a new interview with IGN, Shigeru Miyamoto talks about designing Super Nintendo World, his opinion on video game stories, and why Nintendo is more than just a game company now.
At least the onecin hollywood is kond of a let down...too small, 1 ride, and 1 restaurant...lots of cool moving things, but once you see it thats it...kids could have fun if the lines dont ruin it.
Mario hasn't always been with Peach, we know. But there was a time he was and also with Daisy at the same time, Luigi's love. This is that time Mario cheated on Peach with Daisy.
In an interview years ago, the Goldeneye 007 director revealed that Miyamoto and Nintendo were not at all pleased with the in-game violence of the James Bond game, so they suggested some ways to tone it down.
well, I have a feeling we'll be coming back to those days with how everyone is offended by something...
Meanwhile Ganondorf throws up blood, and Link then goes to impale him in the throat as Ganon.
Why would he need to? He is the most famous game developer who has no problem getting funding for games he wants to develop.
I can see where he's coming from with the whole "responsibility" pressure thing, but I think he wouldn't have much to worry about. Miyamoto has created some of the most iconic games ever. The only thing I think that would make him nervous is if he tried a brand new IP with crowdfunding, something that isn't guaranteed to have immediate support.
Still, if he did crowdfunding, I'd be on board.
I like the idea of crowdfunding in principle, and i've contributed to a few kickstarter projects myself, however i think people are maybe getting a little rose tinted about this. Sure, Publishers can be shits for developers to deal with, but just wait till a bunch of 12-20 year olds are on forums demanding this be added, that be changed, backed up with 'i've paid my money, you listen to me!'
Have a bad feeling Double Fine etc might not find it all they'd hoped it would be... (hope i'm wrong).
Miyamoto already gets to make the games he wants to make.
