Wait....there was a game called RAGE? lol OK, ok I am kidding...I like RAGE even if the end was shit, but trying to support that game now feels a bit too little too late. Does anyone even still own their copy of RAGE?

Oschino19074406d ago

I still have RAGE, its one of those games I will never get rid of. I was really hoping for DLC info when it came out, I hope that's what the news is. Would love to go back and play it some more and there are a lot of things they could do for DLC like more co-op missions, single player expansion, multiplayer modes as it was limited, more multiplayer content for what's already there. Crossing my fingers on this one but not holding my breath.

lelo2play4406d ago

I actually enjoyed Rage very much... not the best game in the world, but still a very good game.

Ducky4406d ago

The game's ending soured the experience, but I still found it to be pretty fun, and I am hoping they release mod tools to see what the community can do with the engine.

I also really liked RAGE. Despite all the complaints from gamers I still think it looked amazing. All the locations had lots of variation to them and the weapons felt good. But yeah that ending was quite a let down. Still have my copy and if they make some DLC for it I will get it day 1.

Maybe I'm a bit biased as I'm a PC gamer at heart and always been a big fan of Carmack and id.

As for Skyrim... looking back at how GOOD the DLC for Oblivion was (see how I'm pretending the horse armor never happened) we should be in for a real treat.

I'm with all of you people. I absolutely loved RAGE. Like the other person said, it's one of those games I'd probably never get rid of.

And I don't think you're biased because your a PC gamer (at least not on this issue). I think it has to do more with being an "old school" gamer. Because for me, as an older gamer RAGE was the first FPS that brought me right back to the feeling I had playing the original DOOM games since actually playing DOOM 2. No other FPS has captured that feeling for me, not even DOOM 3.....until RAGE.

And while I'm an old school gamer, I was never a PC gamer. I grew up playing Atari and in arcades, and I've always stuck with consoles (and arcades) since. Only dabbling here and there on PC.

I really hope it's RAGE DLC. Not so much single player or race tracks. I can do without that. All I want is more more more online/splitscreen co-op missions. Give me all of that old school FPS goodness you want to pump out, iD. I'll buy it all.

LoL hell no, sad the game was just too easy I think.

About bloody time we get some Skyrim DLC news, although saying that we'll have to wait for the news AND THEN wait for it coming out.

Seriously why say that they have something for n store for Rage in the same sentence as Skyrim, totaly going to be overshadowed.

lastdual4406d ago (Edited 4406d ago )

I'm hoping for something big after this wait. We know they've said that the Skyrim DLC will be closer in scope to an expansion, so I'm very interested to learn what kind of new land we'll be exploring.

Visiting another exotic deadric realm like we did in Shivering Isles would be a nice change of pace.

ChrisW4406d ago

Vanilla,

Would you have preferred Disc Locked Content instead? At least Bethesda knows how to do it right, even if they finished it before Skyrim was released. They waited... Unlike Bioware.

A little patience normally turns out good (happy customers) results.

humbleopinion4405d ago

I'm actually hoping to see the expansion DLC they promised for Rage
RAGE:QUIT

GaMErFoLife884406d ago

ok it says tha are finshed with the fixes an kill csms witch is cool an fine but i yet to see it on consoles, pcs has had it for more then 3 weeks. am i missing something? im getting very annoyed with this waiting stuff.

Raider694406d ago (Edited 4406d ago )

Well they really need to fix the texture streaming for Rage in consoles because thats what makes that game broken for me,its horrible!Same goes for Skyrim on the 360,streaming texture problem that is not yet fix!

caboose324406d ago

I'm guessing DLC for Skyrim and the mod tools for Rage Carmack was talking about not too long ago.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast17d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22917d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko17d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave17d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave17d ago (Edited 17d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
