these things are such a rip off, people gotta stop buying these, there should be backwards compatability with every new console at least going back one gen, this shit is getting annoying

they are selling rich women their own fat asses back to them.

plus you can emulate the games from ps2 on pc, pcsx2 works so awesome, and you can play the games in REAL hd, not garbage 720p like the ps3 remakes, also, its FREE if you own the original games, you can play with the ps2 disc right in your pc drive.

I'm replaying persona 3 in 1080p with anti aliasing at beutiful 60 frames right now, it looks epic!

Also playing Fatal Frame 2, amazing game, even more amazing in true 1080p at 60 buttery frames, better than the ps3 will ever do it, all for free as i own the original,

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

i dont sell my console games, not the good ones at least, i'll be emulating uncharted 2, demons souls and mgs4 in a few years in glorious 1600p....mmmmmmmmmm

-edit, what is there to disagree with, everything i said is 100% true

"ohhhh he's talking bad about our glorious ps3 from 2006",

eat it!

People disagree cause you are wrong.

HD remakes usually include new textures which makes the graphics better than any emulated versions.

Also they're cheaper than normal games and you often get 3 games in a pack.

That should be reason enough to get them.

theeg4413d ago

the graphics in recent remakes like splinter cell, silent hill, tomb raider, resident evil code veronica all look WAY better on pc, sorry man, you are wrong....trust me, i emulate ps2 games all day long, they kill the ps3 remakes, plus they run at 60 frames and have no jaggies, also, they are free, you just pop the ps2 game in your drive and launch PCSX2.

not to mention, you can emulate 99% of all ps2 games, you do not have to wait until they decide to give you one for $40, you just put it in the drive boom

Kingdom hearts, persona, ffx, killzone, ratchet and clank, jak and dexter, sly, gta san andreas, every big game, running perfect 1080p at 60 frames, and rare games that you cannot even find in stores

whatever man, people are easily manipulated into buying the same stuff over and over i guess.

slaton244412d ago

might be because no one cares how u r a pcgamer and some people like the remastered versions of older games...

SockeyBoy4412d ago

The problem with emulated games is graphical glitches and unreliable sound. At least with remakes your getting a product that runs perfect and the bonus of achievements/trophies.

I've never played DMC before and I'm not about to go buy a PS2 to play them. This offers me a chance to hop onto the bandwagon for the series in general, which could lead me to picking up a future DMC title. It's a win win. I get to give the games a try, and the developers get both money for this game and a possible future customer. Quit complainin' bro.

no_more_heroes4412d ago

Same here, sort of. I've played about a little more than half of DMC 3 (as a rental on my cousin's ps2) and demoed DMC 4 (fought that fire boss in the village). Could be interesting to (almost) fully experience the series.

nevin14413d ago

There no incentives for me to buy HD remakes. The only way i'll buy them if their $20 or less. Otherwise Im cool with my BC PS3(which does a good job upscaling to HD) and PS2 system.

R1CAN6174413d ago

I missed out on DMC2 & 3 so this is perfect being able to play them in HD

Gen0ne4412d ago

Even though you missed out on DMC2, you didn't really miss out. As you're about to see soon enough.

MySwordIsHeavenly4413d ago

I don't care if they improved the graphics.

I just want trophies for being AMAZING at Devil May Cry! I have over 1000 hours clocked into DMC3 and I can't wait to play it again!!!

Devil May Cry 3 Switch Release Shows Capcom Hates Nintendo Fans

Devil May Cry 3 is coming to Switch, but an absurd price and split collection show that Capcom is all about screwing over its fans.

LightofDarkness1611d ago

Well this is a tad melodramatic.

mikeslemonade1610d ago

Why do you want to play dmc3 on switch anyway.

wheresmymonkey1611d ago

And completely redundant. Capcom have already said the collection is coming out on a cart next year (granted two and three are download codes.

The only problem is pricing, but that's true of all publishers putting games on new platforms. Look at Stadia. they expect you to pay £50 for a selection of ports you can get on pretty much every other platform for half the price.

RosweeSon1610d ago

Yeah all publishers try premium prices on newer systems. Square Enix still charging £15+ for old final fantasy’s on iOS

Segata1610d ago

They could not bother to put 3 PS2 games on the card is lazy. DQXI put extra content and fit it onto a card. Witcher 3 entire game and DLC are there. Capcom has been lazy on Switch. Mega Man collection had 8GB download. If they could fit the HD collection on a 360 disc (which was DVD9) then they can put it on a Switch card. Capcom has been lazy and overcharging on Switch ports.

RosweeSon1610d ago

Most articles are these days.

Sciurus_vulgaris1611d ago

Switch ports tend to always have a high price. Even the first-party Wii U ports such as Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze were sold at $60.

King_Noctis1611d ago

And that was outrageous. I don’t care how good the game is, $60 for a side scroller is just atrocious.

wheresmymonkey1611d ago

Why? It doesn't take any less hard work and effort to make a side scroller than it does any other type of game and Tropical Freeze is a bloody big game too.

bloop1611d ago (Edited 1611d ago )

"It doesn't take any less hard work and effort......"

You reckon they put in the same effort and hard work as the likes of R* put in to something like RDR2?

Nah.

Teflon021611d ago

wheresmymonkey
Lol, they definitely but in less of a effort to make a sidescroller. I LOVE Platformers, whether 2D sidescroller or 3D. BUT I can for a fact tell you a sidescroller of any kind is definitely less of an effort.

Razmiran1611d ago (Edited 1611d ago )

At least Tropical Freeze is a fun game while RDR2 is a boring slog of a game

Nyxus1611d ago

Some of those Wii U ports were actually more expensive on Switch than they were when they launched on Wii U.

septemberindecember1611d ago

I think just one was (Tropical Freeze). I can't think of any others that were

Concertoine1610d ago

DK was, it cost 49.99 at launch in 2014 and then re-released for 60 lmao. The funny thing is if it was 30 or even 40 i would consider a double dip just to support the franchise.

The only time Nintendo offers any real value is when theyre doing poorly financially (wii u years saw some good deals such as MK8 coming with a free first party game of your choice) or at the end of the generation.

RosweeSon1610d ago (Edited 1610d ago )

Wii U games RRP Was lower. Not to mention no one apart from the hardcore Nintendo fans played them so they are essentially a new game if you’ve already played them don’t buy them again. If you haven’t like most Nintendo games wether they came out this year or 25 years ago they are still as playable today as the day they were released. Mario kart I paid £36 day1 from amazon for my switch version sure I had a £10 voucher but shop around. NSMBD was barely £35/40. Sure if you go to the official Nintendo store or even worse GAME you’ll be paying £49.99.
Mario kart defo got enough replayability for its price.
One Mario kart sure over 2 generations 4-5. Fifa meanwhile released 5 games all pretty much the same and at a minimum of £39.99 some editions are over £80 per year but £40/$60 is too much for a quality game that can be played for years and years unlike last years FIFA which is outdated within 12 months if not sooner.
Each to their own but I’ll pay £40 for a quality game any day of the week. Specially one I’ll be playing years down the line and if I ever decided to sell ain’t gonna be worth £1 like last years fifa etc. They hold their prices as well 😱🤷🏻‍♂️ 🤓✌🏻

To say Nintendo never offer value (concertoine) is absolute 🐎 💩 people are still doing speed runs on ocarina of time Mario1 off the NES so they charged £40 and 30 years later people still playing them... seems like pretty good value to me.

Elda1611d ago

$20 for one old DMC game is absurd when one can purchase the DMC collection with all 3 DMC games for current gen platforms for the same price of $20 or less.

Italiano12345671611d ago

Got the whole collection for 10 bucks lol

PlayableGamez-1611d ago

You can say that about most releases on Switch.
The Witcher 3 is $60 while it's $20 PS4/XB1/PC

Not damage controlling for these high prices, but most games (besides indies) tend to be hire on Switch. Doom 2016 is still $60.

Traecy1611d ago

Those prices are ridiculous.

RosweeSon1610d ago

Yeah and that is all down to the publishers Nintendo don’t control the prices for Witcher 3 or doom as I know you know try telling some people that tho 🤦🏻‍♂️🥴 😜 Capcom another one.

Baza1611d ago

Capcom is going to destroy you
