Sega speaks on next generation Sonic titles.
Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?
Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Top 7 for me
7 cd
6 mania
5 Frontiers
4 sonic 3
3 sonic 1
2 sonic and knuckles
1 sonic 2
Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
SEGA’s Second Division Manager, Osamu Ohashi, wants to surpass Mario by strengthening the Sonic IP.
They can compete but Mario will always win. Mario and Sonic cater to different fans or fans who like both.
Sonic doesn't have to compete though. Both are their own thing, there's plenty of room for them both.
Thing is Sonic despite the bad games is still an icon as big as Mario, probably bigger cause he's seen more in media than Mario. More cartoons, more movies, more memes. So on that end he's good, they just gotta stop making bad games.
The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.
I imagine the 3d software is gonna be alot more 3D this gen. My satillite has better 3d than most games that are out.
Hopefully SEGA can find a way to keep next gen Sonic games on the same level or above Sonic Colors on the Nintendo Wii. That is a 3D Sonic game done the correct way. If they feel that the can not achieve that type of greatness again, they will hopefully remain side scrolling.
It has been proven that new consoles and specs will not save the Sonic series if they stray too far from the original formula. Lets all hope that SEGA remembers that next generation.
Rated E For Everyone
Wtf, Sega didnt do anythin with Sonic this gen let alone next, Sonic Generations was alright but thats about it
