PlayStation Vita: Seven Games To Avoid

Chris Buffa (Modojo): They can't all be winners, right? We knew going in that PlayStation Vita would have some dud launch games. Happens with every system. Publishers either rush a game to market or simply fail to put much effort into it, resulting in shovel ware that eventually winds up in a bargain bin.

Telling others to avoid a game due to personal opinion that do not equal the opinion of everyone else?

People should at least be aware of the negatives and positives, rather than being told to completely avoid without any personal thought.

Edit:

Tell them to play the demos to develop a better personal experience. That way they can actually come to a better conclusion than being blind sheep.

i won't be buying most of the games that they mention, but only because i don't find myself playing thoe type of games, then again, im pretty sure im going to buy some of the games that use the Vita's new functions, like Reality Fighters and Little Deviants, im still curious about it :)

MaximusPrime4435d ago

I agree with Razzah. Playing demo is the way people makes decision.

Not in every case,i remember playing Uncharted 1 demo and hating it, but when i played the game a year later i was blown, it happens sometimes to some people and vice versa.

Oldman1004434d ago

Shit, if playing a game I didn't like resulted in getting blown I'd change my mind and start loving it too! With that said you're one lucky sob. I wish I got a bj while playing uncharted. ;D

10 PlayStation Vita Gems That Flew Under the Radar

VGCartz's Adam Cartwright: "Throughout the life of any console, certain games come to prominence and are recommended to new owners without reservation. For Vita, these are things like DanganRonpa, Digimon, Killzone, Persona and Tearaway – titles that are recognised for their outstanding quality and universal appeal that I’d say the majority of dedicated Vita gamers will have tried at one time or another.

For every console, there are also a tonne of games that fly under the radar and are only noticed by a tiny subset of fans. Everyone with a Wii knew about Mario Kart and Super Mario Galaxy, for example, but few knew of Battalion Wars 2 or Fragile Dreams. These ‘hidden gems’ can often provide some of the most diverse and exciting experiences in a console’s library, it just might take a little digging to find out about them.

Vita is no exception and this article will be a selection of 10 hidden gems that I’ve come across on Sony’s handheld."

I read through the entire list and the game that I think I would like the most is Wanted Corp. Twin stick shooters are always fun on the go. I have to admit, that this game never hit my radar, so this article is great to bring games like this to our attention. I still play my Vita. Playing Final Fantasy X remaster and using the cross save feature with the ps4. Great system even to this day.

Had to import it but UPPERS is a great game, it's so fun and corny, i love it

10 PlayStation Vita Software Missed Opportunities

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "Many would argue – and I wouldn’t really disagree – that the PlayStation Vita never really had a killer app. There wasn’t that one piece of software that helped change the console’s fortunes. The closest we got was arguably Persona 4 Golden, an early release that received huge critical acclaim, but it was part of a niche series and as such its sales impact from a hardware perspective was muted.

There were missed opportunities along the way, as certain titles had the potential to change the Vita’s fortunes, but the way the final product was delivered (if indeed it was delivered at all) left a lot to be desired and so they didn’t reach their full potential. It’s these games I’m aiming to look at this in this article – 10 games that were missed opportunities on Vita. I’m not saying that every release I’ll be talking out here had the potential to be a “killer app”, but if they had been executed a little better they would have undoubtedly been a key factor in helping the console reach a wider audience."

Still thinking about the that last of us 2 multiplayer missed opportunity

isarai1662d ago

My soul still aches over the idea of making 3D Dot Game Heroes a Vita series never happening after the dev studio expressed interest in doing so. Could've been a flagship for it, or at least carried it a bit further.

The vita contributed to the ps3 having less support from Japanese devs. I hope sony keep focusing on one console at time like they are now in the future

A Look at All of the Stealth Games Available on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "The stealth genre is one that some would argue doesn’t even exist – many titles include stealth elements, but actually fit into one of a number of other genres like action, platformer, or third-person shooter. Ever since the breakout success of the Metal Gear franchise (in particular Metal Gear Solid), though, the genre seems on much more stable footing and it demonstrated that you can have a veritable blockbuster on your hands relying only on stealth mechanics as the main gameplay element.

In recent years we’ve seen other things like Assassin’s Creed, Hitman and Splinter Cell continue to push the genre forward, although it still has somewhat limited appeal. Thankfully, the Vita has a healthy selection of stealth games available (and even more with backwards-compatibility), meaning if you’re looking to do some sneaking on the go then you’ll be well served with the console."
