Mass Effect 3 Available for PSN Pre-Order Today With Exclusive Bonuses

PlayStation Blog: It’s been one week since our Mass Effect 3 demo became available and everyone at BioWare is incredibly pleased with the response. If you haven’t already checked out our single-player and multiplayer demos (the latter is completely spoiler free and a bit addicting!), I suggest you try them to see what all the fuss is about. Our development team worked hard to ensure that Mass Effect 3 is available at the same time for PS3 as it is for other platforms, a development milestone we’re happy to celebrate with the PlayStation community!

Why even bother?it's priced way too high.

TopDudeMan4438d ago

My thought's exactly. If they sold DL version for about £30/ $40 it'd be a good deal, but apparently downloadable games cost more to sell (?)

SoundGamer4438d ago (Edited 4438d ago )

You would be surprised how many people purchased Mass Effect 2 from the PSN (for full price at that) when it just released on the PS3. I remember reading that it was a rather large turnout. THIS is why they are doing it again.

Yet, I agree with you. For a digital version, it will probably be a bit pricey. But as long as there are people who will purchase it through that medium, they will continue to sell it there.

I can only imagine the large download size of the game. For me, I'm sticking with the physical copy of the game.

TopDudeMan4438d ago

Yeah, you'd be there a few hours downloading it. That's for sure.

Since a lot of games are starting to have digital releases, for instance like Steam, i think they should lower the prices of games to $50 dollars again. I wouldnt think it would be as expensive as releasing a physical copy of the game for the publishers.

But we all know that wont happen.

Ares84HU4438d ago

Not only that, but it's a digital release. What happens if a few years down the line you want to play it again but you don't have a physical copy and it's not on the PS store anymore?

I prefer physical copy over digital any day of the week.

If I spend my money on something, I like to own it.

All you have to do is make a backup of your hard drive. Theoretically, I can have 3 digital copies on 3 different hard drives compared to your one physical copy. Which do you think will last longer?

This game may be the worst I've ever seen for having exclusive bonuses. You get bonus weapons or armor for buying figures, the vault thing, pre-ordering at certain places, doing certain things on FaceBook, buying the branded controller and other accessories, etc.

Apparently if you get more than one code for the same gun it becomes even stronger in game.

I'm buying the game since I want a conclusion to the story but it's merchandise and marketing are kind of the definition of nickel and diming for people who want everything...

Never understood why you'd buy it off here, when the price indicates daylight robbery.

(Unless you got money to play with, or you're hungry for the exclusives?)

Bonuses are the Argus and a theme? - weak

pre-order through GameStop (pc version which doesn't allow for store pick up - the bastards) but wanted that armor :)

How I hate you pre order DLC - I've become what I despise

Id worry about the fact that the psn store updates so late sometimes. Sure it'll release on 3/6 on psn but while everyone else has been playing it all day you have to wait till anywhere from 5pm to 9pm in order to even start downloading it. Psn really needs to update much earlier in the day.

gtxgamer24438d ago

It would be cool to pre-order then on its release date your ps3 gets turn on and it automatically starts downloading.

Double_O_Revan4437d ago

If rather it be Done downloading. 12:01am my system turns on, like with updates on playstation plus, downloads and installs. So at about 8 when I wake up, Bam!, there it is ready.
