Top 10 Boss Battles

Videogames force you to kill (or at the very least, brutally beat down) a lot of people. Whether you’re playing Halo, Skyrim, or even something as seemingly innocent as Mario, by the time you see a game’s ending credits you’ve likely killed more people/aliens/turtle-things than you can count. The amount of Chinese peasants you kill in one level of Dynasty Warriors would be enough to get you branded as a war criminal in real life. Hell, play a few hours of Call of Duty and you’ll likely kill more faceless soldiers on screen than Arnold Schwarzenegger has in all of his movies combined (538, by the way).

Article fail. No God of War or Metal Gear Solid.

Ghost2504445d ago

exactly the psycho mantis bossfight from MGS was one of the most unique boss fights ever. this Article FAILS hard.

deep_fried_bum_cake4445d ago

Although your comment about no GoW or MGS made me wary I went into that article thinking it couldn't be that bad, and then I saw the Mr Freeze Arkham City fight listed. Bad list.

smashcrashbash4444d ago

Yeah, how could he leave out the Colossus of Rhodes or the battle with Zeus in GOW 2. That Colossus was relentless and even when he was going down he STILL took Kratos down with him.

Blacktric4444d ago

Well, most of the "top 10 bosses" articles already had bosses from MGS and God Of War games in them so this list is actually feels fresh for a change. But I'd replace Tower Knight with False King Allant since that bastard was much harder to kill than Tower Knight. Especially if you consider how Tower Knight was a pushover when you used ranged attacks.

Akiba964444d ago

Even though I agree with you that an Mgs or god of war boss would have made my list, It doesn't make it right to call this a fail article because you don't agree with the bosses selected by the editor.

Its an opinion piece.

Not A Bad List could have been much better but that's his opinion

ziggurcat4444d ago

tower knight in demons souls was my favourite boss in that game, for sure.

I agree with the WW Ganondorf fight. The whole thing was just awesome. I remember getting really nervous because I had trouble timing the final parry. It was one of those things where you had to be dead on or close to it. Plus, the whole thing taking place in a drowning Hyrule was awesome.

I also really liked the Manfred case In Ace Attorney. It was an objection fest and he played his unlikable perfectionist role perfectly. Ironically, he's actually one of my favorite characters lol.

But yeah, there are some puzzling omissions here.

Kicking Garl Vinland's ass was always a highlight of each playthrough for me.

FFVI is a timeless classic, surely one of the best games ever created.

_Decadent_Descent14d ago

I really do wish they'd give it the FF7R treatment.

phoenixwing14d ago

Ff6 is probably the most deserving for that

Cacabunga13d ago

Octopath traveller or Star Ocean remake treatment would fit it better i think

FinalFantasyFanatic13d ago

I'd rather it play more or less the same by have the 3D chibi graphics from Ever Crisis, I don't want them to change the story like they did with FF7R.

Wish they still made them like this, obviously with a graphic update.

I have yet to play her FF game but the figure for 11k and it looks great the amount of detail. If I had the cash I would grab it and possibly the life size T-800 statue and the giant Devastator figure as well.

_Decadent_Descent722d ago

Easily the best FF. It deserves a remake.

Furesis722d ago

6 always seemed cool to me. I couldn't really get into it because how old the game was (i know i'm sorry) but i always wanted to experience it. Honestly i wanted a 6 remake more than 7(i dont feel 7 needed one tbh) but seeing how 7 remake is i don't think i would have wanted a game like that anyways. Something like ff x style with pre rendered backrounds or just fixed camera and turn based with modern graphics would be a dream come true for me. But i think it shall remain a dream unfortunately.

RedDevils722d ago

Better than 7 imo. 7 fanboy gonna hate me for saying so suck on it lol
