VGW: Apple has just hired Robin Burrowes, a man who spent the last seven years leading the marketing efforts of Xbox Live. Right now, Burrowes’ official role with Apple is heading up the marketing of the iOS App Store in Europe, but there is reason to believe the company may have its sights set on entering the game console race. And when they do, here is why they'll succeed.
Epic Games winning its cases against both Apple and Google is shaping the way forward for the future of mobile gaming.
I feel alot of mobile gamers are kids which will at some point probably turn to console or pc. Mobile gaming just doesn't cut it for me.
Epic Games scored a win against Apple as the iPhone's manufacturer is being forced by the European Commission to reinstate Epic's iOS developer account, paving the way for the return of Fortnite to the platform.
Beh. Tim Sweeney is such a pain. He's always trying to force Apple to play by his rules. He should make his own phone, and launch his own app store there and see if he can make it viable. Options are nice, unless they're parasitic, i.e. Epic Games / CCP.
Epic Games' iOS developer account has been terminated as Apple is blocking once again the attempt to bring the Epic Games Store and Fortnite to its devices. The company also really didn't like Tim Sweeney's public criticism on Twitter.
I hate to even think about Apple getting into the console market...
- Console - $1000
- Apple specific headset - $100
- Controller - $100 each plus it would probably connect via that shitty iOS proprietary USB connector
Apple has to remember the console crowd is different than the iPad crowd. People who want to get into PC gaming don't get a Mac they get a gaming PC. People who want a handheld get something made by Nintendo or Sony
And they won't have any exclusive because any thing that can be done on the iPad can be done on the Wii U and PS3 with the Vita
Oh.. Shut up! lol.. Apple isn't making a console. They only specialize in handheld & MacBook / iMacs devices.
Keep dreaming...
@ below, Yeah.. but that's Microsoft though, they aspire to rule teh whole world. Apple seems to be okay with how it is today with it's iPhones & iApple stuff..
if apple were going to release their console, their window is SHRINKING for optimal launch, the Wii u will be out soon and a new Xbox in less than 9 months, so, if they are going to do something, before e3 when the Nextbox is announced would be the time.
otherwise, halo 4 vs angry birds 2, i know what i'd buy,
wait, who am i kidding, the apple console will outsell the ps4 and nextbox 3 to 1 most likely, why?
because people SUCK, thats why, and their taste is terrible.
In order for Apple to even think about competing they need their own studios and IPs at the ready.
