Hope Sega comes back with a new console and Shenmue 3 and the circle is complete!

the original neogeo pocket was such an under rated little handheld. It was the first to offer handheld to console connectivity. Or so I think.....

Bring it on!

Same here! This was totally unexpected. Especially from SNK. o_o

Vita has some competition...

gigreen4465d ago (Edited 4465d ago )

Seems like it's just a retro handheld. Nothing special.

PS Vita FTW

Also, Once the Vita does get hacked, it'll be able to play all of those NeoGeo games anyway, along with N64, GBC, GBA, PSP & maybe PS2 games also.. :)

@ below: That's right.. but only the Vita's PSP emulator was exploited.. the Vita system itself is still very much secure though at this juncture.

Megaman_nerd4465d ago

Vita was already hacked and people are running emulators and stuff on it.

LightofDarkness4465d ago

They are, I've seen PicoDrive (Genesis) running on it and Doom so far. I don't know why you got a disagree for stating a fact.

jwk944465d ago

The vita wasn't hacked, the psp emulator within the vita was hacked because Sony left the exploits that were present in the psp in the emulator.

LightofDarkness4465d ago (Edited 4465d ago )

Do you even know what "hacks" are in these cases? You do realise that the PSP emulator is a PART of the Vita, right? That's like saying "The PSP wasn't hacked, the bootloader was!"

Regardless of which way you look at it, they are playing emulators on their PS Vita, not their PSP. They found a backdoor exploit, which is what nearly all hacks are with regards to consoles. They are utilising the machine to carry out functions that it was not intended to carry out. Das ist ein hack.

No, they haven't blown the whole thing wide open, but they've found a way in and utilised it. That's all it takes.

Furthermore, get over it. It's not an attack on your beloved console if somebody tells you it's been hacked. You can plug your ears and shout "la la la" all you want or come up with all sorts of excuses for yourself, but what's the point? You're not going to change the fact.

God damn people are sensitive about this stuff.

You were just waiting for someone to reply to you so you could say that weren't you? lol. You sound a little mad yourself. Take a breath and chill. You sound like the sensitive one here.

just look at the games. I think this is just an updated version of the old one from the 90's like the DS to DS Lite.

SNK: The Trials and Tribulations of a Fighting Game Pioneer

The developer known for its classic 2D fighters has seen many ups and downs.

It has been hard to see one of the most important companies in the fighting game genre go through all these struggles over the years. While it's true that Street Fighter, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat have become the dominant franchises in the genre, SNK's classic series helped the genre flourish with a multitude of innovations that its rivals adapted and improved upon. If you have never played any of them, give one a try. You'll be taking in a full dose of gaming history, and will be ready for whatever SNK has up its sleeves for the next few years.

Decent article, but it was Takara that did the home ports, not Tanaka.

SNK in 2023 and the future is fine now. They just got bought out by a Saudi Arabian firm that grew up on their games. They stated a goal of creating AAA games now. So SNK is in their kitchen whipping up that heat for us. It's about to get crazy.
