Pre-owned revenues haven't been affected by Online Pass initiatives introduced by publishers over the last few years, UK retailer GAME has said.
Stellar Blade's creative director, Hyung Tae Kim, has also claimed that the game is deeply inspired by Nier: Automata.
I feel like Yoko is downgrading Automata because he has expressed multiple times he'd like to revisit the universe, but Squenix hasn't been keen about it. We know he loves 2B and would love to take her out for another spin, so maybe this is how he gets the company to think about it.
I get he's giving them some credit, but i strongly disagree based on the demo. I honestly don't think any aspect of it feels good, it's not bad, it's just kinda ok but definitely a little jank. Also the souls like formula it is adopting does not help it imo. I was looking forward to this for years, now im just kinda let down honestly 🫤
"The Paris-based (France) indie games publisher Twin Sails Interactive (the publisher of “Gloomhaven” and “Ember Knights”) and L.A.-based (the US) indie games developer Odinsoft, are today very glad and proud to announce that the full version (v1.0) of their single-player survival game “Survival: Fountain of Youth” (which is set in the 16th-century Caribbean islands), is coming to PC via Steam and EGS on May 21st, 2024." - Jonas Ek, TGG.
Duuro says: "Max Mustard proves that taking classic platformer fundamentals and crafting memorable VR mechanics on top makes for an incredibly fun experience."
Sometimes, players who pick up in pre owned, it's just play the single player, not everyone playing online especially in my country where half of gamers don't even know that Multiplayer exists
I'm not sure if that was the entire idea. I think mainly publishers were looking at a way to profit over someone else reselling their product.
Well, that's definitely going to send a message to publishers to keep doing it then. If publishers aren't seeing an increase in sales due to these tactics, but they are seeing an increase in Online Pass purchases, they'll keep doing it wherever possible. Might even become the norm.
Great now its here to stay. I can't stand the online pass. I have more then one system one upstairs and one down. I can only pick one system to play it on plus can't lend it out.
I live in Portugal :)! As Finch said, i got 2 systtems as well on my house and is kinda annoying, but i don't really have problems with it besides that
