Feedback: Steam, DmC Devil May Cry, And Video Game Rumors

Blair Herter and the rest of the Feedback crew discuss Steam's success, DmC: Devil May Cry death threats and the latest video game rumors.

G4 is so out of touch it's depressing. They know nothing about the original Devil May Cry series and they know nothing about the compliants against the new DMC game. G4 is a discredit to the gaming community.

Do yourself a favor and don't give is a hit if you're against the new DMC game. It'll just piss you off even more than you already are.

Here's better gaming information from someone not getting paid to do this. This guy is gaming awareness at its best.

Just tell yourself this , however positively and against all odds the so called press wanna hype some titles , there are cases where the public has the final say and isnt fooled .

Such was the case with enslaved getting mindblowingly positive reviews without even alluding or hinting to some of its flaws .

The public wasnt dupe and had better things to spend upon at release .
This could very well happen again , even with the added fame of the dmc brand

I bought Enslaved for $64 a few days after launch. My only dissapointment was not getting it at launch. Brilliant game and very underrated.

You being happy with it as a consumer isnt an issue . But as people calling themselves pro journalists , they should do more than being useless infomercial , or once everything pile trash for the heck of it on a particular title .

And my point still stands , they could hype it all they want , the public didnt care , rightfully so . Especially when they did have a demo to judge and better games released alongside it

G4 are either clueless or have sucked some ninja theory juices. Ive never heard so much crap in the space of 15mins in my entire life!

Blackdeath_6634484d ago

the issue is not with how dante looks or his hear colour its the fact that they completely changed his personality. because of that you dont view the game in the same you used to, the story telling will be different and how you relate to the charecter will also be different.
even more than that though is the battle system. dmc had one of the best fighting gameplay style in any hack and slash game ever in my opinion to me thats what makes a dmc game fun. i have so many issues with the dmc reboot, it feels like they have completely removed the soul of the game.that gothic feel isnt there anymore. nothing has pissed me off more

Yui_Suzumiya4484d ago

Very happy about the change. Thank God he isn't gay anymore.

Coolmanrico4484d ago (Edited 4484d ago )

That's the funniest thing I've read today. You don't know many gay people do you?

Blackdeath_6634483d ago (Edited 4483d ago )

cant tell if sarcastic or just god damn stupid. nothing screams gay more than skinny jeans and bad attitude. infact i dont think they could have made dante any more gay in the remake and im also amazed at how they made a charecter that i would instantly punch in the face had we ever met in real life.
also i dont have anything against gay people its just that in the original dmc dante was anything but gay.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC4d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos3d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga3d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer4d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey6024d ago (Edited 4d ago )

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya4d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde4d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP4d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

Why Are Steam's Recommendations Dogpoop?

Blindfolding myself and clicking a Steam page at random would serve me better recommendations than Steam’s algorithm

Hmm, not sure I agree with that. The recommendations I get are usually pretty good, but then again I have pretty large library of games on Steam and hundreds of them in my wish list, along with lots of curators I follow for it to build recommendations off of. On occasion it will throw me a random FIFA game or something I've never bought or shown interest in, but mostly its decent IMO.

5 Years Later, Devil May Cry 5 Still Quenches My Hack-And-Slash Thirst Like No Other

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Devil May Cry 5, the latest iteration in the iconic DMC franchise by Capcom, still holds its own as a fantastic hack-and-slash in 2024."
