I disagree. Ninja Theory actually have been a severe detriment to the action genre. Their philosophy that story is more important than gameplay is a very negative thing for not just for action games but for interactive media. At least cutscene heavy games like MGS4 had solid gameplay to back it up - Ninja Theory games have been uninspired technical messes.

Not to mention, their stories wouldn't pass for direct to DVD B movies. "We have schools, you have mechs".

Ninja Theory really does make good games. I have read people saying they make crappy games and I had to chime to say that Heavenly Sword was by far one of the best PS3 launch titles. Enslaved was extremely well written and suffered lack of sales because people were comparing it to Uncharted. As soon as the price dropped, people picked it up. I loved it and wanted more. Monkey is a great character and I hope they dont regress and shelve the IP. I hate the new looking Dante, but I did feel that the old one was too androgynous.

Good thing I learned to embrace change in my favorite series. If you wanted more of the same, you got it with DMC 4, which no one cared about. Face it, if they announced just another DMC, no one, including the fans, would be paying nearly as much attention. If nothing else, after this, people will actually know who Ninja Theory is and their original IPs will start getting the attention they deserve. Even if they do go down in gaming history as "the guys who ruined DMC." Better than not being known at all.

If I recall correctly I read an artice about Hideo Kojima in which the guy himsel admitted that he received lots of death threats from fans over MGS2 and as we know, the result is the most epic entry in the series known to mankind as Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater. Thank GOD CAPCOM are not doing the new game and have given the responsibility to Ninja Theory, the direction they are moving towards for this game is long overdue and looks more interesting than any other DMC sequel I have seen for many years.

Keep up the good work and please give this game the evolutionary jump it has needed for so many years, if anyone can you can.
