Legendary Developers Pick Their Favorite Games of 2011

This time of year, every gaming site is offering up the top games of 2011. While IGN is also taking this approach, we also decided to do something a little different. Who better to call out some of the best games of the year than the people who are actually making the games.

Most of the developers aren't Legendary.

blaaah4497d ago (Edited 4497d ago )

The only devs in the category "legendary" could be

1. Entire Nintendo EAD/SPD and Yamauchi
2. Capcom's devs from the 80s and early 90s like Ono and Keiji Inafue
3. Square & Enix devs from the 80s and early 90s like Sakaguchi
4. Konami's devs from the 80s
5. Master Higgens (Google it :P)

I don't think anyone else has done enough work to be called a "legend"...

What about Rockstar ? They have created the fantastic GTA series ( GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas ), Bully, Manhunt, RDR etc.

They are definitely a legendary developer if there ever was one.

No Miyamoto or Hideo??This list is a fail and half these clowns aren't even legendary developers.

uncharted 3 and skyrim is everywhere.

That's true. You can expect however, that it isnt in Peter's or Cliff's best interest to give U3 notice (and you can't blame them).

I read in an earlier article that one of the bioware founders was hooked on Dark Souls.
With that said, its always interesting to hear the thoughts and opinions from developers on games that they did not create.

Forgive the typos- I sent this from my phone.

Peter Yes
Cliff No
Epic isn't one of Microsoft first party developers like Lionhead are.

"I read in an earlier article that one of the bioware founders was hooked on Dark Souls."

I hope they get the inspiration of Dark Souls Battle system on their next game.

Would you please post the link to that article?

See last prg.
In short Bioware is looking at Skyrim and Darksouls. In the last prg, Zeschuk (Bioware fonder) states that he is dumping a lot of hours into Dark Souls

AFK Journey Review: A Rewarding Gacha Experience - ESTNN

Paul G Writes: "AFK Journey is a free open-world, role-playing gacha centered on creating your own team of powerful heroes. Here, you play as the reincarnation of the great mage Merlin, solving a mystery surrounding a malignant corruption.

On its surface, AFK Journey's gorgeous visuals, strategic gameplay and dynamic characters promise a wholly fun experience for new and old players alike. Journey even has a very easy pity system that makes getting rare heroes a breeze.

That said, AFK Journey still presents the usual flaws in big gacha entries, including a lack of accessibility features, bad voice direction and predatory microtransactions."
