I agree with you, Squatch. Even though Nintendo was expecting to sell 16 million units by Christmas, 4 million is still a respectable number. At least the price cut happened at the right time (i.e. around the Holidays).

My problem with the 3DS was:

1) It cost $250 at launch, and IMO wasn't worth it. I played it during GDC, and I thought it was all around good, but it wasn't worth $250, especially with the Vita costing the same price and offering much more than the 3DS. Now at $169.99 I think the 3DS is at a reasonable price.

2) Even with the price drop to $169.99 there were no games to play which is exactly why I got rid of my 3DS. The Legend of Zelda was the only game I was playing, and I didn't want to play it, because I had already beaten it so many times on N64 and Gamecube. The only other game I was looking forward to this year was Mario Kart, and honestly 2 games isn't enough for me to want to buy I system.

3) Finally I can wait for the inevitable 3DS lite or another price drop before picking up a 3DS since I only buy about 5 - 10 games for each Nintendo console (IMO that's generally all that's worth buying anyway). The 3DS has some hardware issues that Nintendo seems to be addressing with peripherals. The battery life isn't what I expect from a Nintendo handheld. Coming off the Nintendo DS which had at least 10+ to the 3DS with 3 - 5 is kind of problematic, especially when I generally play short pick-up and play games, or full RPG's on Nintendo handhelds. If they come out with the 3DS lite there's going to be a price drop on either that version or the original model in which case the 3DS will be at the desired price range for me and most other people, it'll have better hardware (hopefully at least 5 - 8 hours of battery life), and a broad library of good games to play.

There's no hate for me on the 3DS, it's just not the right time to buy one IMO. Maybe in a year or two, but by then you have PS Vita, Wii U, and potentially Next Box, and PS4 as options over the 3DS.

That's not true, there were over 40 psp games that sold over one million. If you think that not one Vita game will sell over a million you're crazy.

I havent gotten either yet. But they are on my list now that i have a 3DS. Gotta love christmas lol (it also being my birthday does help xD)

Though i looked through the list of games currently out and there still isnt much to play.

I am highly anticipating Luigi's Mansion 2, and Kid Icarus though. Oh, and the new Smash Bro's when that finally has a release date... which probably wont be until like 2013 or so :(

Haven't been any big games for psp recently, also it is kind of a dying system at this point. 3ds is new, and there is a smaller selection of good titles for it right now. Enough with the trolling. You can save that crap for your vita vs 3ds comparisons.

I like my 3DS quite a bit...Do I wish it had another Analog stick? I sure do. But really that's my only complaint about it.

Battery life too I guess. But Vita has the same issue there, so I'm not really going to detract anything from it. I'm so excited to get my Vita too!

People can give me as many disagrees as you want. But the 3DS is one terrible piece of hardware. The design of it is piss poor compared to the DSi. The specs are really out dated. I played the 3DS in a store a few months ago and after 10mins playing with 3D on my eyes felt like they were ruined for life, it took about 20mins to fill normal again. Everything about the device is terrible. battery life, screen resolution, 1 slide pad, uncomfortable to hold, D pad and slide pad are badly placed. and even at £140 now its still to expensive.

But for me, I'm happy I have a 3DS and I think for a handheld the gfx is good for example Resident evil that's coming out. the 3D effect is mediocre at best but it seems like developers don't know how to use it yet. Did u see the 3D effect in Mario Land 3D? it was awesome. but dude that opinion will get you disagrees but its an opinion so I'm happy for You.

An unfounded opinion is a crap opinion. It took me about 2 weeks to get use to the 3D effect. Then I thought it was awesome. Its not the most powerful pocket device. But the quality and playability of its top games is hard to beat.

I made a comment a few months ago about 3DS troll article writers EATING their words. Looks like that is exactly what they are doing. When 3DS is at 100 Million units sold and counting, they will pretend they never wrote such articles.

Also, there's nothing stopping the Vita from breaking the 100M mark either. Provided Sony really markets the thing and it's games correctly and pumps out tons of cool games.

What's with ppl complaining about their eyes hurting with 3d? When I first played Zelda my eyes would hurt if I didn't turn my head with the 3DS while aiming. But after I learned to do that it was fine. I play with the 3D effect n full blast and it makes the games look cool, gives them some added depth. I don't understand, are my eyes awesome or are people just assuming 3D hurts their eyes and trolling?
