Uncharted: Golden Abyss VS Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Comparison

"Well, there were a lot of comparisons about the Uncharted 3 out there before, for example (Uncharted 3 downgrade, history, and E3), but this time is different."

Sharingan_no_Kakashi4505d ago

"What’s your thoughts? Which ones are your hero, PS3 Uncharted 3 or PS Vita Uncharted: Golden Abyss?"

Vita looks just a tad worse than U3's split-screen multiplayer.

Ult iMate4505d ago (Edited 4505d ago )

Wow! A game of the first wave for a handheld device has worse graphics against the game that got "The best graphics 2011" for stationary console. Who would have thought!

pr0digyZA4505d ago

@Ult no need to be so sarcastic he was actually paying the game a compliment.

tigertron4505d ago

GA compared to UC3's campaign is silly because UC3 is miles better. HOWEVER, when compared to UC3's multiplayer, I actually think GA looks better. The graphical downgrade in the multiplayer is unforgivable.

Also, @ RedHotChiliPepaSpray,

it used to be silly comparing hand held games to consoles, but we're now at a point where handhelds can now be compared. Thats how powerful the Vita is - and I'm proud of Sony for this.

nveenio4505d ago

I was paying Vita a huge compliment. UC3 split screen looks pretty good (though it's no match for single player), and coming close, especially for a handheld, is a good thing.

Don't always assume the negative out of what people say...it doesn't flatter you...

Ult iMate4505d ago

@inveni0
I wanted to say, that they should compare GA with the first Uncharted to be fair.
If you look at what Sony Bend did in graphics department for PSP in Dark Mirror -> Logan's Shadow -> Resistance Retribution, I'm pretty you can imagine, what they can achieve in their next game for PSV.

comparing a handheld game to a console game? yeahh why not
-____-

Spenok4505d ago

It is a little silly, but its still valid as its the same franchise.

And as was expected the console version looks way ahead of Vita. However Vita still puts off some amazing visuals.

Cant wait to pick this up asap!

SilentNegotiator4505d ago

I don't think it's silly. I know which is going to "win", but I still think it's interesting to see how the handheld stands up in comparison.

GribbleGrunger4505d ago

i agree, i don't think it's silly to compare. it just shows how close the Vita comes to it's fully fledged console version... and remember this is only a 1st gen game on the Vita. i wouldn't mind betting that 3rd gen games will look every bit as good as UC2, and that would be phenomenal

JellyJelly4504d ago

More like comparing a brand new handheld to a six year old console. Just saying.

user8586214505d ago

Would make more sense to compare it with drakes fortune seeing as they're so similar

NiKK_4194505d ago

yeah, that would make a lot more sense.

DonaldBeck4505d ago (Edited 4505d ago )

g a looks amazing, but uncharted 3 takes the cake.

I was really hoping this would have made it into one of the collections. Like how they did with the GoW PSP games.

VenomUK793d ago

I recall just playing the start on PS Vita but not much more and many Uncharted fans wouldn't have played it either so this 'unknown' chapter could be ripe for an expanded version for PS5.

TiredGamer793d ago

Agreed here. Played it back on the Vita years ago, but never finished. The cramped Vita controls and the tiny analog sticks just didn't gel with me in a game where precise headshots are half the fun. It's the first Uncharted game that I haven't completed/Platinumed, and I think much of it is control related. Really wish it was PS TV compatible (natively).

I would definitely buy it if it were released as a PS4/PS5 version.

YoungKingDoran793d ago

If you ever play it again on Vita definitely turn on the gyro aiming assist, made it alot more fun to play and i ended up getting all the headshot trophies thanks to this- super accurate

TheEnigma313793d ago

I loved this game. It was like an extension of the first one. Why haven't we gotten an HD release yet?

TiredGamer793d ago (Edited 793d ago )

Lack of available dev resources and lack of a lucrative ROI probably. I think Sony has an opportunity to sell it as a separate, standalone HD remaster for like $20. Otherwise, the effort to convert a PS Vita game to the PS4/5 won't be worth their while. Unfortunate, but that's probably the only way it'd make financial sense.

deleted793d ago (Edited 793d ago )

Some of the puzzles/interactivity would have to be completely reworked. I remember having to hold the camera to a bright light. (I remember being annoyed at that part bc I was playing in bed late night while my wife was asleep next to me. Ran to the kitchen at like 3am just to get past it lol)

Also the swipe battles. I absolutely couldn't stand the final boss because the swiping felt so inaccurate and it would constantly misread gestures.

I adored the rest of the game though, and even the story! It couldn't simply just be rereleased, it needs reworking for consoles. (same reason it didn't get PS Vita TV support) The rubbing parts could still work w Dualsense/DS4 though.

I'd gladly welcome it and do hope it happens eventually!

Muigi793d ago

Glad I still have my Oled Vita.

MadLad793d ago

Sony should have tried harder to support the Vita. It ended up just a solid emulation machine that happens to have a handful of classics.

Bigman4k793d ago (Edited 793d ago )

Yeah Sony gave up on the ps vita way too fast

Bigman4k793d ago (Edited 793d ago )

I really like Uncharted:Golden Abyss on ps vita it would be dope if they remaster it for PlayStation 5

Analyzing 'Uncharted: Drake’s Deception' – Wait, What is The Game About?

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has a lot to live up to as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is an incredible and near-perfect game.

It's about retirement...oh wait

UNCHARTED2FANATIC898d ago (Edited 898d ago )

I cant even say what the point was its easily the worst story in the series. The online was a whole lot of fun though but overall doesn't come even close to 2

porkChop898d ago (Edited 898d ago )

It was a step back for sure. Personally, I thought even the MP was way better in U2. Solid game, glad I played it. I just think they didn't push as hard as they did with U2.

UNCHARTED2FANATIC893d ago

Yes both the online and story was better in 2 no doubt

Flewid638897d ago

The "young Drake" portion was pretty top notch, story-wise. But yeah, everything outside of that I felt was inferior.

DanielEndurance898d ago

Villains were all over the place in this… one second they wanted Drake dead, the next they needed him, then they want him dead again, then they coulda killed him, but poisoned his friend instead, then coulda shot him again, but had brunch with him, then needed him alive, then coulda mowed him down, but decided to kill him by fire and let him escape… Uncharted 2 was way better. 😅😅

slowgamer898d ago

=D Sounds crazy. I don't remember any of that. Played it on ps3 and I remember thinking that why was this game so bashed compared to second one. I liked it.

Chocoburger897d ago (Edited 897d ago )

Another thing that annoyed me about UC3 events was the agent Talbot teleporting around Turkey. It just felt off to me, and made no sense.

Also, for about one third of the game, you go on a wild goose chase to rescue Sully, who wasn't even there to be rescued, and you end up back where you started again. There was simply no pay off for all the events you go through, so it fell flat in that regard as if they couldn't figure out how to make the game longer, so they decided to side-track you to do something with no pay off, hoping you wouldn't notice due to all the incredible action set pieces they made.

Overall though, even with its flaws, I still enjoy the game.

TheEnigma313897d ago

This was actually my least favorite in the series. Didn't have that same impact that part 2 set.

Flewid638897d ago

Uncharted 2 is the pinnacle of the series (to me).

Granted, 4 had the best story in my opinion, but 2 was the overall best game.
