SWEET! A "true" survival horror game. I'm glad that the two characters were actually trying to get away from those things rather than going "Rambo" and facing them with Shotguns and Gatling guns like most so called survival horror games do lol. Naughty Dog, work your magic.

It's survival action whatever that means, horror isn't mentioned anywhere, so we can assume they ain't trying to make a scary game. Unless you have a fear of the infected. Compare it to a normal zombie action game, then add survival elements?

And Binarymind/ This is in engine, not in game, cutscenes in Uncharted look a good bit better than gameplay, and the trailers looked alot better than the final game(cutscene's included). So we can assume this will be a minor upgrade to U3's graphics.

I wouldn't say that 3D would necessarily make it suffer technically. Uncharted 3 was 3D-capable, yet had amazing graphics still.

Though I couldn't care either way, I think that the fact that Sony adding 3D support to a lot of its games is a great idea. I'm sure that next generation, there will be even more games with 3D support. It might even be standard on all games by then.

3D is fine, but Uncharted took a heavy hit because go it. Just look at the pictures from E3 trailer compared to the final game. (There was a story about it here). Then, when the game is in 3D, although impressive, it takes another hit.

That is why I wouldn't like the game to be in 3D. It is unlikely though.

Guys I own an LG 3D (since black friday lol) , and Uncharted 3 looks phenomenal! Played a KillZone 3 demo too.......CRAZY Bullets and snow flies right to you. It truly is something you have to experience.....I hope its in 3D personally

I would love something different too, but you're going to be hard pressed to find many games these days that manage to sell more than a million copies without any guns in the game. This game seems to have potential to actually push the stagnant zombie genre forward.

If it were anyone else I would say it was just another plague/zombie game. But from ND I am certain it will be an experience that I won't soon forget. Jak and Daxter and UC already left their mark on my gamer heart and I bet this game will too.

I already like the fact that everyone else besides our protagonists don't seem to give a $hit about each other. From what I have heard so far it looks like you will be fighting off not only what ever those misshapen things are but normal people as well. In most games and movies the remaining people usually band together to help each other. But it looks like people have adapted the 'every man for himself' policy instead. I look forward to hearing more

Based on the clue from UC3 this obviously happens in Drake's world in the near to mid-term future. Was UC3 the last we'll see of Drake? Is the girl his daughter? Will Drake be in this game?

I personally think that the clue in UC3 was just that. A clue. It was them having fun with hinting at their new IP. That's what I think anyway. I doubt this will be in any way related to the Uncharted serious other than possibly throwing in little hints like the one they did in UC3 or something.

This is the reason why we dont need ps4 yet because ps3 still has lots of power and we still have allot of great games to come next year like this game, FFversus13, last guardian, bioshock, etc. I hope too finally see a survival horror game where you can use vehicles like tanks, jeep, helicopter, etc. to kill monster and zombies. hehehe

I doubt it will be, Naughty Dog have shown us that (thankfully) story is an integral part of their games. Something that is difficult to control in open world games as pacing is up to the player not the game director.

I'm definitely going to get this but it better look like that in-game, Uncharted 3 literally looks worse than it's reveal trailer and it was really noticeable throughout my entire playthrough (but the boat yard gameplay looks the best to me.

I hope this is exactly how the game looks with no changes.

Yeah the lighting looked better and I personally think the ship yard gameplay was the best looking part in the whole series, but that doesn't mean it wasn't downgraded.

I did a comparison myself of the first cut-scene in the desert between the reveal trailer and the actual game and the reveal trailer was miles ahead. The texture quality and lighting was almost like CGI in the reveal trailer.

Even before the comparison I felt really uneasy about the graphics during my first playthrough because it didn't have that same wow factor as the trailer.

I just hope they don't pull the same stunt with this.

The Last of Us Rated M With No Online Play

In the few hours since we got our first glimpse of “The Last of Us”, information has been coming from left to right, well guys we finally have some info about the networking and rating of this new Naughty Dog title. This game will not feature online play, that means no co-op, or competitive multiplayer of any kind, there’s still a possibility of local mutliplayer though. In addition to that, we can now confirm that this title will be rated M, or Pegi 18. “The Last of Us” will be Naughty Dog’s first M-rated title, it’ll be interesting to see what they have up their sleeves in terms of gore, blood, and violence. What do you guys think? Does this M rating make this title better than it would if it were rated T, or does the rating not matter?

This is what a developer should be like. Make its own tools better and better, develop its engine to its highest point (till the next hardware comes), exploiting the actual hardware to the maximum. Not the devs we see pushing for next gen because they dont want to do the hard work of fine tunning their engines for the actual hardware...lazy arses....ND IS the best developer team this gen hands down.

An open world zombie game wouldn't work for me. I'm not interessted in a Zombie game that isn't survival horror. So it kinda needs little tight rooms weak lightning and little ammo. It would be hard to get that feel in an open world.

I tend to lose track of the story in open world games, as there is so much to do. Unless I can go back and do all the missions after the initial story is completed. (ME2 did this the best). I guess its just preference.

My big question is whether or not ND keeps building upon the idea of cinematic traits and presentation that we saw a little bit of in Uncharted 2 and a lot of in Uncharted 3. With no real emotional substance to make the horror hold any meaning, I can see why people are getting tired of zombies.

Though I can't help but feel like people are being shortsighted, & stubborn about this.

I have yet to see the full potential of what a pandemic like a zombie apocalypse can provide for gaming. But from what I've seen of Naughty Dog's new game, it's already exploring some of the elements I've longed to see explored in a game.
Survival horror (as I once knew it) has been dead for a long time now. The "survival horror" of today, tends to cater to the attention span of adolescent violence whores in desperate need of medication. While still fun, they have an unnecessary focus on gore & over the top action.
The games I loved, had me wanting to avoid confrontation. Games where ammo is so scarce, three bullets are sanctuary (a joy to find, like in the trailer). With a focus on stealth, what fighting there is should done by hand. And if you get outnumbered, you had better have those bullets or you're fucked.
With the technology (and money) behind games today, vast improvements can be made to the formula of the original survival horror. Exploring deeper narrative elements, not only in cinematics, but in gameplay. What would you do if it was the end of the world, & somebody tried to steal the first bit of food you've seen in days? In the trailer, one man beats another man to death & has a young girl loot his corpse. Which one of them started the fight?
We've seen that the game is focusing on a strong narrative, that monsters are not your only enemy, that you're surviving in a harsh world with extremely limited resources, & that you yourself might just be a monster (if only in character). So what's left after that? ...It's Naughty Dog, so quite a bit I'm sure.
The first trailer for The Last of Us shows that it could very well be a return to form, as well as an evolution for the genre. And I, for one am excited.
